Talked to Chris Krawczyk tonight and confirmed with him we will be using the 4:00 clock most laps wins format for LSO.

We'll also use the 1:00 clock time for the other FE heats and will be splitting the classes up so there'll be less back-to-back.

We listen! :thumbup1:

The "Super 8" (5 mins from the pond) has a great deal if you book 2 weeks in advance, 25% off the $74.95 regular rate, I stay there all the time, it isn't fancy but clean and usually quiet.

http://www.super8.com/hotels/ontario/london/super-8-london-on/rooms-rates?srcDestination=&partner_id=&srcBrand=&campaign_code=&checkout_date=07%2F08%2F2012&children=0&useWRPoints=false&ratePlan=BAR&teens=0&affiliate_id=&brand_code=BH%2CDI%2CRA%2CBU%2CHJ%2CKG%2CMT%2CSE%2 CTL%2CWG%2CWY%2CPX%2CWT%2CWP&iata=&adults=1&checkin_date=07%2F06%2F2012&rooms=1

Otherwise Travelocity has lots of other options:

Just over a week to go now, shaping up nicely!

Speaking of shaping up nicely, I've just got confirmation our off duty Flight Attendants will be making an appearance Saturday to sell raffle tickets.

Holy smokes. How am I supposed to concentrate?

Terry, do you guys allow FE in the open mono and open hydro classes? Not sure I could compete there but it would give me more boats to run.

longballlumber
06-27-2012, 10:02 AM
Wait for the confirmation from Terry, but I am 95% sure that is OK. Last I spoke to him about "open" classes at the Northern Lights "Open” That was his philosophy; open means open!

I am still working out my schedule trying to make this race too. My work schedule and wife schedule is chainging daily (another long story).

Later,
Ball

Any opinion on Q sized boats in an open class? Might be a little rough.

Still working on Q fins and my Q mono is still not clear coated. Paints almost done though.

longballlumber
06-27-2012, 10:36 AM
I think if you go out there with the objective of turning laps and finishing races you might be surprised what kind of point totals that actually yeilds at the end of the event.

If my Q was ready and I was able to get more time with it, I would try and run it in Open hydro.

Later,
Ball

T.S.Davis
06-27-2012, 11:03 AM
The mono will be making it's maiden voyage Friday open water. The Q sport I may go right back the the old fin with a deeper straight rudder and be done with it.

Finishing is king.

I'm running an FE in Open Mono! and in Open Hydro!

T.S.Davis
06-27-2012, 03:01 PM
Howard, every time I don't finish a heat I hear your voice in my head "gotta finish to win"

I modified the NS4 I bought from you. We'll see how it goes I guess. Looks cool for sure.

Terry Keeley
06-27-2012, 07:18 PM
Bigger FE's do very well in the Open Classes, matter of fact Chris K. won Open Mono last year.

Half the fun is pitting the different disciplines against each other! :rockon2:

Gonna need another couple 1/8th Scale FE's and P O/B Tunnels or it's not looking too good for them...:help:

photohoward1
06-27-2012, 09:22 PM
Terry, you kicked but last year in Open Hydro. BTW. I'm not messin around this year. Bringing the big gun. 10s with a 2215 and an x462 Rigger.
If I can stop shaking I might have a chance. Open Mono..Aeromarine Tripple X, 3060/7 and 8s with a 457/3....Brutal Class.

Mike and Roger Hallam and Steve Peterson did a fiantastic job on the site, thanks guys! :thumbup1:

Talking to Bob Morton about place to eat and if you just go up Wellington Rd. you wll not want for anything, "The Keg" is a nicer steak house, "Jack Astor's is a fun Sports Bar and Grill and if you want a great Chinese Buffet "Mandarin" is the place. A great Fish and Chips place called "Archies" is right accross from the Super 8, they do takeout as well.

Lot's in the area.:welcome:

Sorry I had to leave before awards. I was a burnt match and dead tired.

Thanks to all that worked their ASSES off in the wicked heat.

Thanks again to all for the help up the stairs of drivers stand. My GF has a steel frame foldable ramp that we could donate to make life easier and safer?

It requires either one or 2 sheets of plywood to complete and folds in half. I think she paid over $100 for it and it's still in a box on my balcony.

I had a great time at the event though I burnt up 2 ESC's and 2 UL-1 motors. Holy crap, I'm dumb as dirt in the hot weather setups.

If I has my PTSS paint done It would have been very different!!! Damn heavy whiplash... good cool weather/ rough water boat though!!

I've only raced with Pags a few times, but he's better than ever right now.

Dave, Mikes' oldest is going to be a far better racer than he is. I don't think he would mind me saying that. Apparently Dougie is her regular pit man. She's smart on the course. Dives right in to the boats in the pits. All she needs is a touch of confidence. I don't remember her cutting a buoy. Dodged dead boats like a pro.

His youngest is a warrior. She was feeling ill and we never heard a complaint from her. She got sick before a heat, raced, took a first, then got sick again.

Clearly I was super impressed with the girls.

Sorry Ray. I squeezed you out of P mono. Shoulda coulda woulda. I had the juice to win that class but.........shoulda coulda woulda. Sucks when the boats perform and we don't.
