Hardcases in boating isn't typically the best. The cells run hotter being incased and if the take on water no good way to let them dry out. That being said it can be done, but isn't the best option. Are they direct connect hardcases or plug in hardcases?

direct connect would work, plug in type not so much. Problem is plug in type the imbedded bullet connectors in the case typically is a 4mm bullet, that motor you have is going to pull more the amps then those connectors can handle. I believe they are rated for around 70amps and same with deans connectors, they can't handle the amp loads boats can pull. Depending on what prop you use the amps will vary, but you'll be 100+ on the amp draw without a doubt. Look for the Gens Ace 4s 5300 30C packs, get 2 and run those in parallel for a 4s2p setup, that' ll give you 10,600mah hrs. Prop with something like a x642, m445 or prather 220. I'm a huge grimracer 42x55 fan! Love that prop.

I'm a Gens Ace fan and Sky Lipo fan. Haven't run the sky lipos in a boat yet, but I'm hearing good things. I use them in my planes though and love the. The Gens Ace batts I use in all my boats in various sizes as well as in my planes. I have a brand new pair of 4s 5300mah 30c pack sitting on my bench, hopefully can solder them up tonight and drop in my Pursuit 32 with a Leopard 4074 2200kv and Seaking 180. I'm in the looooooooong and expensive process of slowly removing Turnigy pack out of my line up and swapping them to Gens Ace and Sky Lipo packs.

If you plan on racing be careful with the 5300 mah. Namba rules regulate u to 10000 mah on board. If u are sport running. The Gens ace 4s 5300 mah would be a good choice. Another happy Gens ace customer right here.

Check Sky Lipo 4s 5000mah 30c or Turnigy 4s 5000mah turnigy 40c look for batteries in that range. Also check out Mark and the Dinogy batteries he's selling.

Partz has the 4s 5000 sky batts on sale.
Ive gotten to like the sky's better than the gens. I like the sizes they offer and the construction of the pack seem to be the highest quality.
I too have replace all my turnigy batts except for a few I'm running in cars. It seems that no matter how well you take care of the turnigy batts, you will still puff one on occasion. You may also get a bad one from the factory once in a while which never happens with the gens or sky.
