Its a good thing. There was a time when I had the enthusiasm you do. Thousands of dollars later, ive finally had enough. But, since youre asking about the nasty city, we run/ran at Simpson Park in Valley Park. Go out on the jon boat where its easy to run. Sometimes run at Arnold park, but its kind of rare because all the geese scat. Theres a pond next to Jefferson College, but it has a lot of moss from top to bottom that likes to swallow boats, never to be seen again. Look up the St.Louis Thunderboaters club. They usually run every Sunday at Frank Holten park on the East Side. Most are nitro and gas guys, but good guys and willing to help with your setup.

You have one of the best clubs, the St Louis Thunderboaters. They have mostly gassers and nitro, but you will find plenty of FE knowledge. Let me know if you are interested and I will PM you some of the members to get in contact with. They boat at Holten State Park out of East St Louis. Fine people and fine pond.

I will be in St. Louis for the Admirals Club meet in late Sept. About 3 guys was there last year but a ton of nice home builts are there and it's at Forrest Park so you can relax and bring the fam :). Not any huge races but if we have enough people show we might put something together.

That's where most of the info about the organization is at.

The most forum traffic about last year can be found here.

Mason, have you gotten with the Thunderboaters for fast boating or the Admirals for scale boating as of yet? I am in contact with most of the Thunderboaters members and they are approaching 100 mph speed run soon. Best to you

That is farther away. I can easily go to forest park. And im not near the 100mph.mark more around 55-60mph in my mg so it wouldnt be that fun trying to race them.

They currently are doing more of the test and tune activities. They are very helpful and most run against GPS or radar times. They have had organized races in the past and the are class organized. Call a member and go out and watch some time to see if is your "cup of tea".

You will also find most of the members are very experienced in gas, nitro and fast electrics. Some of the best in the country. I am currently in Florida and really miss the concentration of diverse talent at Forrest Park Lake. You are lucky to be there!

Forrest Park is the park by the zoo. The Boat House is on the largest body of water you can rent paddleboats and sit on the dock and drink.

Thats what i thought. I ride my bike by there all the time. Where do you drive the.boats? in front of art hill that big section or in a cove?

That's just it I am talking about a once a year event and I am 3 hours away. I went last year and had a great time but there wasnt that many fast boats. Id say that they make us go away from the paddle boats Im only running 40mph max anything above 60 id say will be frowned upon. Hence the no gas rule. I just put in front of the boat house

Ok. Let me know where you are running. Im at about 55mph maybe slower. I wad thinking infront of art hill.would be.nice. Anywhere else wouldnt be big enough.

There is another lake north around that Wesport Plaza where they have rowing and sailing. Its big enough for 100 mph plus. But I have never ran there.
