I am not proud of my "mad scientist" computer power supply job - using a paper clip to jump the on switch and clearly having non union hookups! Well they make a nice break out box now that is really professional looking. Check it out if you're interested in either using a computer power supply or cleaning up your make-shift one. $45 an aint cheap, but hey.

Pretty much the same as I did, I asked a computer store about old PSs and they just gave me 3.
Jumpered the switch inside and removed all the extra leads, installed a pair of banana jacks, I suppose I should have painted it to look slick but hey total cost was about 5 bucks and a half hour work for a 12v 20 amp PS. Don't need a load resistor for some reason with mine, maybe because I always have my charger plugged in when I turn on the supply?
