Thanks for everyone's advice. I now have four Nano Tech 5000mAh, 2s 35/70C for my new Mystic. These should provide adequate priced power for my first summer solos. However, I also need a "basic" (some thing under $100) charger that would allow me to charge two of the batteries simultaneously, balance and discharge when necessary. You guys were so helpful before I gotta ask: what do you think?

As a side bar - I did read the threads for chargers, etc. Much of it, way over my head for the moment.

Thanks again,
JeffL

Got one of these over the winter from Hobby King. Just under $100.00 dollars and it does everything from charge to discharge, Balance, and storage. With 2, 200 watt chargers built into one and up to 10 amps it just the job very nice I think.

Jeff,

Look at all the threads on "parallel Charging". Check out Progressive RC and their parallel boards. Based on that, if you want to charge only 2 at a time, you need a 100 watt charger. (you will draw around 90 watts actual) If you want, with the parallel board charge all four in one batch, you will need 200 watts on that charger output rating. But at 200 watts, it has to be able to charge at 20 amps to charge all 4 at 1C.... Clear as mud?

Thanks for the help everyone,
I'm still rubbing my face a little but, looks like it's a Hyperion 720i. The AC/DC flexibility was something I wanted. If my calculations are correct the batteries should draw about 38 watts each. The 100 watt Hyperion (90 watt @ AC) should provide adequate charge for the two batteries with about 10% reserve for age deterioration. Right????

Thanks for your help and any comments,
JeffL (New Guy)
