Thanks Lenny I am a slow learner, but a happy learner. I hope to have some info on my boat in the near future. Waiting on the stock in out drive to show up it is on back order.

Joe, Do you have any pictures of your boat hull ?
Also hears a link for the stock stinger at TowerHobbies and it in stock,http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXBRMM&P=Z
And why do you want the stock hardware for your boat ?
Instead of something better and probably cheaper in the long run.

Lenny I the stock rudder arm kit. So I thought I would have to by the stock outdrive because they mount in tandem. The speedmaster 3/16 stinger looked like I would not be able to mount the rudder arm above. So do you think I should buy the speedmaster stinger and then off set the stock ruddder?

Joe, Do you have any pictures of your boat hull ??:popcorn2:

I am not sure about what you want to do,
Do you want a inline rudder or offset rudder ?
How much $ is the stinger you have on back order ?
With the curved p1 transit, You would need to makes a spacer of some kind.
Was your hull already drilled for the stock hardware when you got it ?

73962]Lenny I think I would rather go off set rudder.it is pre drilled. The stock outdrive (stinger) is $34.

Ok, Whats in side the hull ?
Where did you order the stock stinger ?
I would buy the one from tower, And cancel the one on back order.
You will need a trim tabs & turn fins, yes ?
And what about servo and motor mount and motor & coupler and a flex shaft, prop dog, prop ?

The hull only has the stuffing tube. I have a wate cooled motor mount from ose. I bought a turnigy 500 1600k outrunner,a aquastar 90a esc. I bought a set of turn fins off of ebay, have not ordeed the trim tabs yet. I have a traxxas 2056 waterproof sevo. And instead of a flex cable I was going Jeff and order his piano wire shafts. I am going to start with a 640 prop.

That stuff should all work nice,
I am using a x440/3 prop, I had a x642 on it and got the same speeds as the x440/3.
But more run time with the x440/3
Will you be running 3s or 4s and 1p or 2p ?
I would fill the stock trim tab holes and get something better then them.

The stock ones I have that I modded are just about the same size, Give or take 1mm.
How thick are they ? Mine are 9.5mm.
I think they will work fine, But do they just have one mounting bolt ?

Joe007

Lenny how far from the center of the outdrive did you put the rudder? I got the stock stinger today. Are you running the stock flex shaft? I am thinking of going with the piano wire set up from Jeff. What do you think?

Hey Joe,
Rudder is 1 1/2" offset.
It is in post #31 in mods, And no.
My flex is a 187.
Piano should be good, You just need to find a way to seal it.
At the stuffing tube inside the hull to stop water from coming in.

A small piece of silicone fuel line will work to seal it.

Thanks for the info,:tiphat:
I was not sure about the piano wire and doing that to seal it.
I have never used one yet.
