New guy - battery advice for Mystic

I need to buy my first set of Li-po's for my first ever Mystic. I'd like to purchase reasonably priced lipo's as I get a handle on the boat. I'm thinking Turnigy - Nano Tech 5000mAh, 2s 35/70C. Do I need to get increased capacity for this boat? Any helpful comments with this combination would be greatly appreciated.

Those batteries will work just fine. I have several Turnigy 6000mah batts with 35c and never a problem. I also have many 40c and 60c, and don't notice a difference in performance. Before you buy, look at the 6000mah batts as well. When you start propping up, it may start creating a bit of heat in the batts, but just monitor temps. The perfect prop for stock electronics is the x642.

I now run a Leopard 4074 2200kv/Seaking 180 ESC and that draws huge amps with a x445 prop--MUCH faster than stock--but still use the same batteries without issue.

I just wasn't sure if I needed to jump into the more costly Dynamite Lipo's for my first battery purchase. The Turnigy's can be had pretty reaonably and look like they'll "do the trick".

I've quit using the turnigy for the gens ace and sky lipos from hobbypartz. Imo they are far superior for about the same money.

I may try Stadium's advice. I have MANY Turnigy batteries, and they have all performed perfectly. The Nano-tech 3s 6000mah batts are incredible (for my Spartan), but I am always willing to test. Stadium, how do you think they are superior, so I know how to compare?

Ive run many of both and think that the gens and sky are of much high quality construction.
It seems that no matter how easy I am with the turnigy batts, every once in a while you'll get some swelling and sometimes get one that's way out of balance from the factory. I've never had one of the others do this.
Also, over the years I've found that running in parallel is a far superior way to go. Keeps temp down, can run lower c rating and cuts amp draw way down.
I'm running the same setup in all my monos and on 4s2p cc1515 2200kv with a m545 I can run in the fifties with temps of all equipment in the 90s.
I'm even running a small 3674 2200kv and a x642 in one of my geicos and it will run in the fifties with the same temps.
I attribute the low temps to running parallel. Jmo
The only batts that have swelled in these setups where turnigy. Other still like new after dozens of runs.

Will the 4s batts fit th Mystic? What do you recommend?

Yes because you can run two 3-4000mah parallel which will still be much more run time than 5000mah in series.
I just got back from the lake and was running both 4000 and 4400mah sky lipos in my geico.
I have also trimmed the wood tray down to make it easier to put any batts in but it's not must.

The 4s2p is a great idea. But the only issue is that I have is that I have more than a dozen quality 2s batteries already, and the boat can run for a LONG time with my bag of batteries. I would have to start from scratch and buy at least four of these. Will consider, though.

No problem. I was in the same boat and as I needed new batts just started replacing with 4cells. I still use plenty on 2cells for cars and my kids boats that are better suited for 2s.

Btw I threw a set of 5 cells in my geico yesterday for a couple of saw runs. Holly cow did it fly.
I wouldn't recommend running 2200kv very long on 5s but it's impressive.
