Okay guys

I am not sure if any of you guys have used these but they are supposed to be rated up to 12s. I hooked up 10s to run a leopard 4082. I burnt up two of them in two days. Are these things just pieces of shat or am I missing something.

What Leopard 4082 is it??? The lowest one is see is 1000kv which means your turning 40,000 rpms! What hull and prop too??

Also the first thing I thought of.
My guess is the rating of 240A was well exceeded if it only took that long.
I've ran the SF240s pretty hard and never fried one.

I have a brand new one of these sitting on the shelf, waiting for use in my 44" Aeromarine Avenger Cat build, Leopard 5692 1320KV 8S-10S. Please keep this thread going & share other builder's experiences with this ESC. JIM

Was it the aquastar 240hv esc ?

Coolmind has this setup,

I have the same setup(turnigy 5690 1320kv-aquastar 240hv-6s5800 zippy lightmax X2 parallel)on a 45 cardiff.The prop is the prather 240(53,8mm and 1,55 pitch).
And i can play for around 20 minutes!!!!!!!Highly recomended setup.Otherwise you can go for a T600 outrunner 1400kv and prop around 47 but it is smoother than the 5692 monster!!!!

Well were not getting any info from the OP.

The minimum rpms that it could have been is 40,000 based on the 1000kv being the lowest kv motor in the 4082. I suspect it was huge ampdraw the blew them both...............dont know the hull or prop, but if its a 30-40" boat the prop should have only been like an x438-440 for those rpms to even be in the realm of a safe zone ampdraw-wise.

If all that blew were the caps and the magic smoke didnt appear they may be salvagable with new cap banks.

Well I have a HV120 ICE 2 for sale in the swap shop for $150 with a pistix. OP should buy something like that and read the datalog. I have a feeling all his answers are in the numbers.

Hehe this is funny, I saw a guy on the lake using only 6s on that esc with a 4082 all you gotta do is adding 50 and above prop, and your current draw will sky rocket. People have successfully hooked 9s to 4082/1600 but only with around 44mm or smaller props. The 240hv can take a lot punch (10kw at peek I think). key is to use right motor/props. Im running x2 1717's 1580kv on 6s with 47/2 props. No problems! I should be able to push 55 props no problem, just not with a 4082. (got a few of them they are ok but keep it small)
