12volt 47 amp 564 watt,
24volt 47 amp 1130 watt.
I am using two in series for 24v on my lab 8, they are very stable, rock solid,
They are set up ready to go with 4mm outlets and power cords.

Heres a close up of the bussiness end of the power supply.
You can see the 24v model is wrapped in black, comes with jumper to allow 24V. as you can see you can use 2-12v and 1-24v at the same time. 2-12v top row , 24v bottom row, or remove the jumper and you have 4-12v outlets. With the jumper in place you also can use the out two far out side connections for two 24V outputs. These power supplies are rated at 47 amps. I have personally abused my test setup, just to see where the fail point is. I have had my Lab 8 with 6-5000 3S @ full 40 amp charge and a cellpro 10 with 2-5S running wide open. I'm still using this power supply with no problem. Just because I did this for testing purposes,,,,,,,,,
I DO NOT RECOMMEND GOING OVER RATED OUTPUT!!!

Singles are 12v and white $55 shipped

Doubles are 12v and 24v and black $110 shipped

These are 100% ready to use. Plug and play

I will ship out of the US,

Hi,
I can not see it mentioned here. What is the input voltage and frequency?
110/60Hz or 230/50Hz?
Maybe interested in two 24V units that I can parallel into + 90A @ 24V

Anbjorn, I only sold one oversea's mostly because of the price of shipping.
The units say 110-240 volt, 50-60hz. Yes two 24volt units can run parallel for 24v@94amp.
The 24v i sent to the UK cost $60 to ship.

I was telling a couple of local guys how good the power supplies are, so they called my bluff. One guy said he would buy if he and his buddy could hook up to a 24v and charge there batteries. So I had one that didn't have the shrink on it, and it was only 65 degrees outside, they hooked 2 lab8's to it 8 lipo's (4each) turned both chargers up to 40 amps and let them run. Over the course of the day, they charged every battery that anyone would let them. One session my amp meter showed 59.9 amps for over 12 minutes. The power supply got warm to the touch but not hot.
I told them I would sacrifice the power supply, but if it survived one of them had to buy it.
I sold 3 that day!

I do not recommend doing this, but I've seen it with my own eyes, I believe they are very underated. They are rated for 47 amps lets try to keep it there!

Very interested in these supplies but I'm a bit ignorant in this area. Question for JRPLANE...although anyone that feels sorry for me can speak up. Is it correct that 1 12v supply will power a dual or quad battery charger with enough juice to charge between 2A to 5A? For example - would 1 supply be enough to run the Imax dual 400wX2 charger that Hobbypartz is advertising for $150.00?
Thanks for your patience. :o

JRPLANE
04-17-2012, 03:27 PM
Double D,

I looked up the Imax charger, I think the 12v power supply will handle this charger with no problem.
The Imax is out of stock, check out progressive rc, they are reputable.

These supplies are good. Don't know how well or what method is used too isolate the 24V combo that is being sold here, but I can say I have my own Powerlab setup charging eight 6s 5000mah in parallel. PSU's dont' break a sweat. Some PSU's can go up to 50A before shutting down.

My power supplies have the DC ground floated, this means you have the AC and case ground still in tact. There are many others being sold that simply cut the AC ground, this works but if power goes to ground and you touch the case you can get shocked!!!

Jeff,

I have run mine a few times with no issues except why are the fans on all the time. I guess I am used to my Bulldog that has temperature sensor so the fan does not run unless under enough load, but would be nice to have this feature on yours.

Steve

Chrisg81983
05-03-2012, 05:59 PM
On all of my power supplies they all at least have a single fan that runs constantly and some have a second that turns on by a temp sensor mine that i got from jeff here runs the same as all of my other and is a great unit one of the best I ever used especially for the money I paid excess of two hundred for some that don't work as well as Jeffs unit does and personally I like the fans on all the time cooler is better ans I believe Jeffs units are pretty much made to run 24-7 ( jeff correct me if I am wrong on that ) so they pretty much need constant cooling anyways Thanks chris g

JRPLANE
05-03-2012, 06:02 PM

It wont do it.

These power supplies are rated 564 watts. That charger will do 400 watts charge and that doesnt factor in efficiency loss. If you are going to run that charger look for at least 800 watts. Preferably 1000 watts so you have some head room.

If you can settle for just the 400 watt charger then these would be perfect.

JRPLANE
05-20-2012, 12:55 AM
What charger? Read the thread, decide for your self, I was charging 4-5300 3S @ 40 amps the charger only pulled 20.1 amps at 24volts
That don't even make them warm!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/power-supplies-12v-24v-power-your-charger-RC-/230793671406?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35bc5ff2ee

Per your auction & the tag on the HP power supply: 564 Watts.

The charger is two ports @ 400 watts EACH = 800 Watts.

Im not mathematician, but the numbers dont add up.

Not a knock on your product. Ive considered one but am a DIY'er as I want to add readout. Also my charger is slightly more tame at 400 watts.

JRPLANE
05-20-2012, 08:41 AM
I no mathematician either, but I know what the FMA lab 8 reads out, when the charge screen show 40 amp out put the power supply input screen shows, 25.2 volts in at 20.1 amps, my buddy runs a FMA lab6 it show exactly the same thing. I have checked with an amp meter and the FMA is reading right on the money

If you read the fine print of most chargers the only way to get the ratings of the charger is to run 18-24 volts (depending on the charger).
None of them put out high watts at 12 volts.

Most chargers only charge 6S if you charge 6s (22.6 volt ) @40 amps that is 904 watts, well under the 24v -1130 watt rating, theres not many 40amp output chargers out there.

Chrisg81983
05-20-2012, 12:55 PM
Basstronics I have this power supply and I thought the same thing with the wattage but for some reason that does not matter with this supply it can take whatever you throw at it I promise you won't find nothing that can come close to it for the money most of the time I only use the ps the 12v way ( single unit ) instead of using the double for 24v

JRPLANE
05-20-2012, 05:24 PM
Thanks Chris, I have found they are bullet proof so far! The only way I have tripped the internal breaker is accidently shorting the outputs,

The ones I am using are the test supplies, they have been ubused, at 59 amps they get warm but still work! Thats 12 amps over rating. I don't reccommend doing this! But I think they are under rated from manufacture, but thats just my opinion. Anyway I have been abusing mine, so I know what to expect.
They rock!

At the time, they were out of the charger. They are now back in stock.
I like that fact that this charger has dual displays for both batteries being charged (i know, it's a quirky hang up I have).
Can you please confirm one of your 12v supplies will handle this charger? The specs on the charger show 400 watts per side/port.

Guys I bought a 24 volt setup from Jeff some time back and I will definitely say once again that it is awesome. It's still running strong and stays cool as heck while charging a pair of 6s 5000 man and a pain of 5s 5000 mah at 10 amps each and another single 6s 5000 mah on another charger at 15 amps. I am over specs but it still works flawlessly.

How much for shipping to Singapore? I'm interested in the 24V setup.

Medium flat rate if $59 USPS WOW!! It was $33. Thats not very cost effective.

Eric , Please check it out, maybe I am not seeing it right, A 24v weigh less than 8 lbs boxes and ready to go. USPS is usually the cheapest.

I have a handicap stair climber that runs on 24v. It requires new batteries every year ($70) Would a 24V unit work and run a wire to the chair?

I bought four of them as a 2S2P unit for ~250USD, after a little more than 12 months three of them stopped working, one is still doing its job.

Manuel

I think it is my fault. I charge in the garage where there is a lot of dust. I took the unit apart and it was filled. I am going to figure a way to put a mesh screen where the fan is and do the same to my Hyperion chargers. One of the little fans on it is making noise. I think I will clean the inside of them also. They are expensive.
