I might get a seagad with one run on it for $300. I was wondering if in stock form I can use two 4s batteries instead of the recommended 3s. The esc says it can handle 4s and using this table http://www.radiocontrolinfo.com/ElectricBoat/motor.php it says 2700kv motors can handle 4s.

On a side note, I already have a aq motley crew should I get this cat?

I wouldnt. Stick with 3s, or upgrade the electronics. Or, better yet visit www.fightercatracing.com and build yourself a 32" cat to run how you want it to.

Can I build one for $300?? I have a limited budget and between electronics, opening holes in bare hulls and the whole nine yards seems super intimidating to me.

Compared to buying an RTR seagad where I can buy two 2200kv turnigy $32 intunners two esc and spend a total of what $150 - $200 and have a nice running boat awesome paint job and in less time.

I don't think I'm ready to build a boat yet. I don't have the time.

So if you had the option of getting a brand new seagad for $300 (includes one 3s) or a spartan for $250 what would you get?

I was going to say maybe a genesis build. I have one with a turnigy 180a esc, turnigy xk-4074 2000kv motor on 4s and it goes well. Total cost not inc shipping from HK $315! The segad does look sweet though.
