I have had pretty good results with 16 cells and a 700 with a 42mm prop. There are lots of other variables that could have contributed. Like if the motor wasn't getting good cooling for some reason. Or if something got stuck on the prop.

If you want a smaller prop you could file your 42mm carbon prop smaller. Make the whole blade smaller from the tongue to the tip.

For a submerged prop I'd recommend not going over 38mm at first. There is a lot more load in an AquaJet than with a surfacing prop, where you could get a 40mm or 42mm prop to work fine on 16 cells. A larger prop does not always mean a faster boat. If you load the motor too much it will not reach its optimum rpm, the result could be a slower boat. That's a bad deal - slower boat, overheated motor = $$$ :(

If i have enough cooling for my 700sc and I decide to run 16 cells on it with a 42mm prop how long you think the motor will last? Or about using 14 with a 40 prop? Guess it would depend on alot of factors huh? I ordered a jacket and has brush cooling already. Im beginning to learn stuff. I have read alot of the threads on here and seem to be getting somewhere.

I am picking up an Aquajet 775 with water cooling and thought I would start out with a 42mm carbon fiber prop. What I don't know is what type of prop the Auajet takes, screw on, slide on, does the Aquajet have drive dogs? and what is a drive dog. I want to make sure I order the correct props from Steve so any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

on my aj i run 14 3600cells 700bb motor and a cf 42mm prop.
it is only cooled via a coil around the motor, great speed, cool temps, long run times, and it has lasted for 6months

as far as prop type, you need to sleeve a 3/16 prop w/ brass tubing(check w/ steven on this)
yes it is a drive dog type
