On the new QX spec Version they took off the old watcha-ma-call-it from the ultra 3 class and replaced it with the more up to date VQ-4 doo-hickie..............

They havent had any complaints yet so i guess it works:tongue_smilie:

The T 120a esc is the same esc as the HW Seaking esc i have both esc & they are the same as this one. I also have the earlier 120a esc which dosnt have this extra thing pictured. The later ones as pictured in the Seaking version is called version 2. Martin.

Looks like an add on board with an extra Mosfet.

Not sure what the yellowish/orange thing is, possibly a resistor.

FWIW here's a year old T-120 . It expired on the mill lap of the first P-Ltd Hydro heat of WWVII last year :cursing:. Motor and servo went with it. Not sure what caused what. Have another one that's working fine :noidea:

I have the newer T-120 in one boat and it works quite well, http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__18986__Turnigy_Aquastar_120A_Watercooled_ESC_w_P rogramming_Card.html

but the new FCR 6S 140A speedy is a heavy duty, very solid unit and priced right ($69.75). Has really thorough programming options (box is $20 but worth it)

I agree the FCR esc is very worthy of abuse! Built the way that type of esc should be made with heat sink in between the fet boards, and THICK too! I have one of them too.

Robert, I was just not aware that the Bec was offboard which is a far better way to do things IMO. That little bit of isolation can make a difference. It was a spare esc that I didn't need and had other wants or needs.

I wonder if it's anti-spark?
