I think that's a very creative solution and have most of the parts needed to build one, good winter project.

I went for a swim (wearing sweat pants no less) earlier this month to rescue one of my boats, I now thoroughly understand hypothermia and why all the warnings!! I am dam lucky to be alive.

HERE's (http://diegoboy.com/media/contraption01.wmv) the grandfather of many of the PVC boats. (not attachments on RC boats) It's grandfather to FE wannabe's lift boat, Baked mopar's PVC boat and Ben's PVsea monster.

about 7 years ago i had a good buddy die trying to save his boat, that messed me up real good .had me scared to even think about boats, but i always had the thirst for the hobby ,and ive ponderd the same thing ,what i ave done in the past andstill do is face the wind if your boat flips the wind will blow it to you ,i have also gave short burst in foward to thrust the boat to a direction where at least it will get closer to you but sinking im stuck ,a feller on here made a bouie system where if the boat sinks a fishing bobber will rise to the top with 80 pound line secured to the boat well least you have a marker ,to retrieve it and also some how or some way ive thought about building a shallow pond thats really big ,like a football stadium and parking lot big ,and at least you wont drown in water you could walk in ,seems a bit outragous ,but haveing a friend or even a fellow hobbyist ,die doing what they love to do ,or much less die in a non violent activity is outragous ,

they have tracks built to race r/c cars ,y not boats too,no current unless artificial ,wont cost much to filter and alge eaters will help keep the pond clean ,charge like 5 buks for rookies ,and compettiters ,pay anually or according to race event, but it can be profitable with enuff visiters ,shoot spectaters 1 buk ,venders,so on and so forth

Well worth the money to build or buy a recently rebuilt rescue boat. I'm 24 my dad got me an abc super hawaii when I was 5yrs old, he bought himself an mrp fountain 42. Decided to revive and restore both this past winter, anyway I live in NY and we tested out the MRP boat ran great for a few minutes till I flipped. Air temperature was 40 degrees, water was 45. I figured eh I'm a good athlete/swimmer the little boat is only 100ft off shore. So I jumped in and made it to the boat and near died bringing it back in. Its absolutely terrifying how quickly your body shuts down and I could barely swim after only 100ft. It took me a few days for my body to feel "normal," again.

Anyway lol I hope this makes anyone reading this strongly consider a rescue boat. I read a bunch of stories of how people died after being in 45degree water for a few minutes so I got lucky that day.

Because of how pissed I was after the incident I've decided to build up the boat above I posted a link to with 2-3 brushless motors and a nonsense amount of power. This thing will be able to push a barge in, I'm never getting wet again lol.
