I just got a Exceede Sword 630 and it has a 50A ESC and a 2848-2636KV motor the manafactor says needs a 11.1v lipo 2200-4500mah. I am a car guy and have many 5000mah 3s lipos can i use a 5000mah? Not sure why it says 4500mah max does it have something to do with the ESC and Motor? Will my 5000mah burn somthing up? Thanks for any info

Higher mah will simply give you more run time, thats all is to it so yes, go for it.
Voltage and Amps is what you need to pay attantion to. Make sure this ESC can take it....
IMO it would be better to use 120Amp ESc.... 50Amp ESc may not be enough for your motor under load....
It looks to me this motor may pool way more than 50Amp.... Well that depends also on what prop you are going to use, etc....

I would be concerned when a manufacture places max battery capacity ratings on their products. This indicates to me that the power system for that hull is not properly matched. When you limit battery capacity, you limit run time. Limited run time may be a direct indication that the power system can not thermally handle a longer duration of run time.

As in every situation, monitor temps and you will be fine.

I agree - use your car LIPOs. If you fry your ESC - probably will - a 180 Amp Turingy ESC only costs about $50. Your motor should be fine. But if you want to add some speed check out these at Hobby King: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__6677__KD36_74_06XL_2800kv_Brushless_Inrunner.htm l JIM

Based on the replies/suggestions of large capacity ESC's and big motors, folks may not realize that this boat is only 22 inches long!

Thanks guys I figured the stock motor and esc will not last vary long and I planed on having to replace them at some point. The boat is only 22" I am not sure how fast it is stock but i am sure i will want it to be faster I have been looking at different motors and esc i want to be abel to run a 4s-6s lipo to get to mid 40-50 mph I have heard it is around 30mph on the stock set up with a 3s. There are so many motors out there I am not sure how to find the correct size for a direct fit. I was hoping to get a motor and esc for under 100.00 any suggestions

Here ya go!! This combo will be strong and last. This motor is an XL 380 FOUR pole and can put out 600+ watts easy...........twice that wattage of the stock motor. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__17730__XK2860_B_2200KV_Brushless_Inrunner.html

and an ESC: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__19437__Birdie_70A_Brushless_Boat_ESC_w_5A_BEC.ht ml

I'd actually spend the extra $$ on the 'Best ESC for the dollar' and get the T120 which you may want to use in another application later.............its not much bigger: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__8946__Turnigy_Marine_120A_Brushless_Boat_ESC.htm l

either way you are well under $100 for a fast 4s setup!
