Prop for Aquacraft Vegas Duece FE conv. 2200kv 6S

Im currently working on my first nitro to brushless swap. I have the boat set up with a 2200kv and will run 2 3S packs in series. Boat is still running the stock driveline for now.
Im not sure if the stock nylon prop would be a good starting point or If I should go with something else. Any input is greatly appreciated.

firstly, 6s is a VERY bad idea with that motor. 4s is what you need. What size/brand is the motor? What esc?

Not sure how you define perform, but if you want some real ya-ya's, drop in a 4074 2200KV motor, T-180, 4S2P,

Well I finally had a chance to run the boat together with the parts I had. It ran out ok but def not the speed I was looking for. My issue with going to a 4074 is that I already glassed in the ose-80210 for a 36mm can.

the 36 mm can should be plenty. maybe its the crappy motor with wrong prop syndrome. those hulls are good, you shouldnt have to worry about putting some money into it. buy a leopard 3674 2200 kv and grim l40/57/3 prop or x440/3 or m445…

another good motor would be turnigy 3665 2300kv motor. theyre affordable too

oh ya,as rum pointed out and tony reiterated, you should be running 4s. otherwise get a motor in the 1300 to 1500kv for 6s

Prop came in a few days ago, I ordered the grim l40/57/3. Still waiting for the motor to come in. Im a bit confused as to what drive cable I need now. I know the stock stuffing tube is for .150 and the prop is now set for a 3/16 drive. My question is do all the struts have the same diameter for the drive?
What cable would be best without having to change the strut

Many struts are designed for a 3/16 prop shaft. If the stuffing tube is sized to run with teflon tubing, you can remove the teflon and run a 3/16 cable. If not, your stuck with a .150 which will last you a while if you don't go overboard on the motor/prop set up.

Good luck getting that prop to hook up. Worked like a blender for me. It's now at the bottom of the lake. Kept lowering the strut trying to get it to catch. Must have had too much angle cause the wire drive snapped. I would stay away from the lifter props. I don't think the Vegas needs lift. If anything I'd say try to take away the lift.

It's a hydro... They're supposed to run on the sponsons... Unless this one is different somehow?
As far as the prop... Mine has never been a problem. Which hull were you using it on Shaun?

this was on a vegas duece electric conversion. ( assuming you mean me by Shaun, lots of people make that mistake). I'll start by saying I'm by no means a prop expert.

You are right it should run on the sponsons. Prop just didn't work for me though, hope it's different or this guy. I'm sure he will report back.

As soon as I figure out the flex drive and get the new motor I will post results.

I use mine on ul1. Many people have said this prop doesn't work, or the strut needs to be down, but mine runs with strut all the way up.
The main thing I think is balancing and sharpening this prop. The blades are thick and need to be thinned ALOT.
I spent a solid 3 hours of work on mine...,

i got it because i read it is a good prop for the ul1. So i was thinking it would work great with the vegas. I didn't thin the blades at all, at least not with the intent of thinning them, just enough to sharpen and balance. I just didn't care for it.

I put a 42x55 on it today and it ran the best yet. A low lift prop766487664976650
