Hi guys

This ESC runs ok on 12s but when I run on 6s the motor cuts out after 5seconds

Is this a setting on the ESC??

Do you have the instructions.I also have one in a boat I just bought, haven't played with it though.Just gonna run a couple of 200's and there were a couple of problem threads on them, kinda had me freaked.I downloaded the instructions and followed them and they run fine.Instructions are on OSE with the controller.

Very important to set to 12s and not auto detect same with 6s have to reprogram each time you change voltage

If it runs ok on 12s but instantly dies on 6 .. chances are high the lvc is set for a 12S setup.
Grab a program box and reset the lvc to suit, then try again.

I had a Swordfish 200amp that did the same thing, thinking it was a radio issue tried a new transmitter and reciever, same deal. Tried all the programing options, same deal. Sent back under warranty, replacement did the same thing. Ran it one day and forgot to refit my cooler hose on the pickup, maxed out temp overload. Next time I used it still cutting out, then 3 mins on 6s it totally torched itself, nearly burnt the boat to waterline. Happy days as I only use Sea King 180's now, very happy with preformance!

The very first thing to set with most any ESC is the throttle travel! It varies between radio brands and the esc needs to know where these settings are! Turn the transmitter on and hold it at full throttle. Plug in your batteries. Wait for a beep(s) and then release the throttle trigger. A couple more beep(s) and the travel is set. THEN make all of your other programming changes.
