My first FE build is finally ready for its maiden voyage, but when bench testing the prop nut (bullet style) keeps spinning off? the rotation of the prop is counter clockwise looking from the back of the boat which i understand is correct, what should i do should i loctite it on? Ive read of people using some fuel hose but that doesnt seem secure to me?

Keep the bullet for display or toss it in the pond! Use a Zuber nut or nylon lock nut, yes fuel tube does work but I don't do it. Guys have been doing it for years.
The nut might not look as cool but I'd rather keep my props. No difference in performance in the thrashed water right behind the prop.

I'm with siberian on this. The bullit nuts suck.Somehow,I put one on recently and almost lost a prop because a bit of weeds caught up.There are locking nuts in the store somewhere that are great.

if you reallywant the bullet you can use the locking nuts and a bullet nut behind

I use blue loctite on my bullet nut and it works great..Even when you break the nut loose the loctite keeps the nut on there pretty good..You have to turn it off with a wrench a couple turns before you can hand loosen it..

I trust the blue loctite on my big heli's and I trust it on the bullet..Just be sure you let it set overnight to cure..

Like Mike ... I use Loctite and even it the past I have used 181 super glue. Haven't had a Bullet nut come loose. I will say Kintec supplied me with a 187 with soldered end and zuber nut but it mysteriously fell off taking my new prop with it. I never did check if the zuber nut was tight though.

I may have to use the loctite solution for the time being as getting a 3/16 nyloc nut in the UK is proving difficult!!

Does anyone know the thread pitch on a 3/16 flex? (ive been told its a choice of either BSF/UNC or UNF???)

You may be lucky Astec may have some 10-32 unf nuts but i dought it, any nut & bolt suppliers in your area will have them. Their all over Ebay as well just put in 10-32 unf nuts.
