View Full Version : Hopw much receiver time form 1100mah?

Got a 1100mah 2S lipo that I'm planning on running through a BEC for my reciever power. How long do you guys think 1100mah will power a receiver for? Any guesses?

I also have a 3000mah also, but did not want to add that much weight to it. Seems like overkill.

Which BEC are you you using? Does your charger indicate how many MAH's delivered? If so, just run it a couple of minutes, put it on the charger, and you would have a very good idea.
Without ME having to look it up, what is the difference in weight? can it really be all that much? IMO, there's no such thing as MAH overkill, if I could run for half an hour, at reasonable
temps I would :laugh:

I was going to run the regular CC BEC (not the new "pro"). But then I found this one below on ebay. I like the fact that it has a low voltage cut off and a low battery warning. Not that you would be able to hear a warning while running a boat, but still.

The 1100mah bat is 2.45 OZ and the 3300 mah is 6.6 OZ. The 3300 is well over double the weight. I'll probably run the 3300 anyway and not take a chance of the 1100 dying on me.

the cc BEC states it is a 5 amp BEC, which i will beleive to a certain extent (irrelevant anyways)
most servos use about 1-5 amps when active but very minimal when inactive.
so in theory if you constantly ran a servo that draws 1A you could use it for an hour, I don't think you will be running for that long.

Or run it for 10 minutes then recharge and check the amount that went back into the pack as suggested above. Simple math will then tell you the potential runtime.
Or add up the total load and do the math.
