Hi,
I'm having a 1/10 shovelnose being built, the namba race configuration is a 1500kv motor on 4s1p. I am going to try a x447 prop with that-- let me know if that sounds right.

For sport running I am thinking about dropping in an 1800kv motor still on 4s. Any advice on which prop would work well? Target speed for the sport configuration is around 55mph.
I'll also try taping in a temporary air dam for the sport configuration as I hear these hulls tend to fly. If this is too much speed then I'll just stick with the 1500 motor but I wanted to give the 1800 a shot.

An X447 works great in them on the 1500 kv motor have not tried the 1800kv

As Jim stated 447 is your best prop on 1500 motors.
You can detoung and bar cut it to get some added performance.
You will most likely be pleased with this speed.
If running the 1800 motor could run slightly smaller 445 or 442.
Or even possibly a 42x55 which runs well on UL power for 1/12 scales not sure if it would work for larger boats.

If setup correctly the air dam shouldn't be needed anything past 50 on these boats is going to get squerly anyways, mine as well get different hull go with modern style if you want all out speed.

Thanks guys. Definately not looking for a speed demon on this hull, but if I can eeek out 50+ I can also do some sport racing with a few other boats in our little FE club (I'm having it initially setup for RHT). Hoping I get a few other folks in my area interested in 1/10 scale eventually, then I'll drop in the 1500KV motor, change the polarity, and move the turn fin...

Cheers!

Say with a 1500kv motor and 447 prop-- any thoughts on 2 blade vs. 3 for this hull type?
