why do I keep breaking my prop? 3x now

I just got 1 run on a new 3 stock 3 blade prop.

If I run it to high with regards to the boats water line will it break?

I have hit nothing.

will caveating cause it to break?

My guess if because its stock? You have lots of debis in the water?

Check out the UL-1 section for good metal upgrades..... Grims, octuras and alike.

Did you leave the little piece of silicone tube on there?

UH I did not see any tube on the prop

should their be?

There is supposed to be a small piece of the blue cooling tube between the prop and the nut that holds the prop on. If you tighten the nut on too tight it cause tiny hairline cracks in the plastic prop not visible to the eye. Then under load the cracks cause the prop to break. Try putting the nut on and just barely snug it to the prop. You will be good to go

interesting, this must be the problem, carbon fiber is real brittle, I was careful to stop the lock nut right at the point of tangency.

now if I had another prop!

Well it's just my guess based on my experiences with plastic props. Those plastic props are 20 bux for two, for and xtra 10 bux you could get a nice sharpened balanced x440 copper prop. Much better and won't snap blades off

$10 where? OSE sells them for 38 and they are out of stock.

I said xtra 10... On top of 20. Guess I was a little off. I can sell you one all finished for 32 bux shipped if you like

yes you did type extra, I'm bad

what do you think of this prop for my UL-1, I just back into boats ater being out of Nitro boats for 15 years, I went all electric this time and I have a drawer full of maybe this prop will work better, trying to avoid a repeat, no user groups back then LOL

The l40/57 is the best prop for ul1. I use it. Has to be balanced and sharpened extremely well for it to work

More prop work. If your boat is stock motor/esc and you got 56 it's mind boggling.... What gives?

It's unbelievable fast. Nobody I know of has gps a stock ul1 at over 55, and that's a stretch. Your gps maybe giving false readings. Most using that prop report between 48-51 mph

Yeah, well I'm not convinced, unless someone else can chime in and verify that those speeds are possible on stock setup.

How many cells are you running,I hit 57 mph on 5s with a modded m447 cut down to about a m446, and thats pushing it to where the esc could let out the smoke.

And to be clear this is stock 2030kv motor and stock esc with l40/57/3 blade prop....

dana

Ok, so you must mean 65 kph.... 65mph is just not possible on that setup.

Ever think maybe your gps is giving false readings? Out of the hundreds of guys over the years who have toyed with this boat, somehow you've managed to push a stock version to speeds the hull is barely capable of? A picture isn't proof enough, but sure, if you want to get laughed at, post a new thread with your claims. I'm just being honest, but if you can prove me wrong, by all means do it.
