Leopard 4082 wires?

Are the wires supposed to come out the top or rear of the can? Just received mine and they come out of top which is now causing problems with it fitting in the large motor mount which is designed or this motor?? I don't really want to cut a section from the tail ring but can't think of another option?

mine also comes out the top but my motor mount fits but cooling can doesn't to long....

I have the long 68mm cooling jacket which is why I went for the longer mount

There are two versions, a "boat" motor and the other with the side exit.
