:tt2: Morning everybody. The small capacitor on my UL-1 esc popped like a gunshot, followed by the smoke and flame of death. I have been contemplating which esc to replace it with.

The stock UL-1 esc and motor are 60 amp / 50 amp. I found a couple that I was wondering about.

1. Hobbypartz - Hobbywing seaking 60 amp. http://www.hobbypartz.com/07e-c-seaking-60a.html

2. Hobbyking - Birdie 100 amp esc w/ bec

Thought I would throw these out there and see if anyone knows anything about them. Thanks

If you buy the birdie, make sure the heatsink/ cooling plate is not touching any of the wires, I don't know if it's like that with birdies but the SS ones have the heatsink SHORTING OUT the motor wires, silly japs.

The seaking esc's are very good. You can also get them here at OSE. If the cap popped try soldering on a new cap. Could be a easy less then $1 fix. That is common on the older ul1 esc's for the caps to go. Adding a new cap normally fixes it. The aquastar esc's are Hifei swordfish esc's you can also get them here at oSE.
