44K rpm unloaded, that's alot.
I'msure the motor would be able to take the voltage but would draw LOTS of amps and alot of heat would be created. Possibly a SAW setup.

Works ok, I did a 6min race on a 5S Nanotech 4500mA (30" mono, 38mm prop). A bigger prop will get you to cooking temperature for anything longer than a saw straight...

Yeah, but it probably wont yield higher speed.

I wouldn't run it on 5s. I run 200kv motors on just about everything with a x642 and get low to mid fifties. Also try running 4s2p. Everything stays cooler and les amp draw.

Here's mine on 5s.................checked temps after the run and they were in the normal range.

Ran my Miss Geico with a Leopard 4074 2200at the Legg Lake SAWs this weekend (Oct 14-16) with 4S2P and hit 52 MPH on the first pass, and hit a turtle on the pass back. 5S2P would have been a bit heaver (and is over the P class limit), but might have put a bigger dent in the turtle. Score: Turtle 1; Miss Geico 0. JIM

JIm, what prop are you running on your MG with the Leopard 4074 2200?

62396623956239662395I was running an Octura X645. I bought the Miss GEICO hull only then the Pro Boat drive & strut. With a 4S29 config you can run a X648 x457 with my setup &a good speed controller. I used a SEAKING-180. Add more capacitors & you will have a better safety margin. Mounted a rudder w/H2O pickup on the Port sponson. It was on it's maiden run when on the return pass it hit a turtle 35" short of the SAW finish line, went airborne & crashed 10" from the finish lights . Impact ripped the rudder mounts off the sponson & the crash at 52+ (we'll never really know) impact split a 6" long section out of the Port sponson. See attached pics. I should have reinforced the starboard transon. But, they REALLY NEED to add more fiberglass on the hulls at the joint seams because a lot of guys have had their Miss GEICOs split open after minor impact crashes. ARE YOU LISTENING PRO BOAT!!! JIM

Ouch!
Thanks for the reply. How do you add capacitors and can it be done on the Seaking 120? I am running stock motor SK 120 5S Gens Ace 40C 5000, detongued X642, I do run my strut lower that most here, but runs 47.1 MPH. I am just curious about the process of adding capacitors. I did like your offset rudder mod, did it help in the turns?

My SEAKING 180 was stock. You can buy caps here in the OSE parts section. I bought some but have not installed them. Check the forums on ESC & other elec links for installation help. Or just buy the 180. JIM

Ran my Tacon 4074 2150kv. motor with a 180 amp esc. on 6s with an x442 prop with no problems. Temps never got above 119 degrees on my motor. Can't wait to try my 4082 setup.
