Castle Thunderbird 54 to adapt to pistol grip tx ?

Hi all i have a Thunderbird 54 aircraft esc i want to use in my 16'' micro hydro this esc works great with my stick configuration transmiter but the hydro is set up with a Spektrum pistol grip tx and to get the motor to shut down i have to apply full brake. Is it possible to adapt an aircraft esc to a pistol grip tx ? Regards Andris Golts.

Which Spektrum Radio do you have? Check and see if your radio has a throttle calibration, I run all Aircraft ESC's in my boats with my Spektrum DX3R radio's without a pistix.
