I have a 120amp seaking esc that I am puting in my mystic and wired it in series just like the proboat esc that was in boat. I am running two 3 cell packs and I was wondering what I should set the esc on 3 cell or 6 cell I am kinda new to this so any help would be great.

IMO 6s x 1800kv + 120a esc = :flashfire: for sure. You'll find most of us add caps to even the T180 when running 6s. Good luck.

So what kind of caps do I need? or should I get diffrent motor. I am new to boats so not real sure what I need. I race sc trucks and thought I would give boats a try but I can tell they're going to be a little different from the trucks . The only reason I changed esc was the factory one kept cutting in & out on 4s and doing wierd things so I figured this 120amp esc would be plenty compared to the 60amp proboat and I could run on 3s if I wanted. Guess I was wrong. oh well. not the first time I've been wrong. lol.

Like mentioned 1800 kv on 6s is not going to be pretty. That motor is much more of a 4s possible 5s motor (if setup and propped correctly). If you truly want to run 6s then you need a different kv motor. The PB1500 motor is better suited for 6s or a leopard 3674 motor around 1500 kv. Biggest difference in boating and cars is amp draw and boats don't like excessive rpms.

I run that esc on 6s but NOT on an 1800kv motor. It drives a turnigy 4074-1400kv on 6s no problem. It does have its own dedicated water cooling to. I think that is a must.

Thanks everybody for all your help but I think I am going to stick with 4s. 6s sounds like too much hassle than it is worth for this hull anyway. Don't get me wrong the mystic is a nice boat but I think I will get a different hull design like fightercat or genesis or something to run my 3cells in. Any suggestions on a good prop for the mystic? just looking for a little bit more speed.

Octura x642 is a good prop for your set-up. I think you'd really be pushing the 120a with an M445, which many run on the Turnigy 180. Another prop which I believe Diesel really likes is the Aquacraft 42 x 55. Any of them need to be sharpened and balanced.

The M props have the tugues already removed from the factory. I can also tell you they are twice the work to sharpen and ballance because they are twice as thick from the mold they are made from so be aware of that. I dont know why Octura does that.
