Below is the last post by CHIEF 44 on a thread I started “ One dunk and I’m done? “ under proboat Stiletto.

“Noooooo u dont want to hit lvc its bad for your cells”

I have :
1. Proboat brushless 60 amp ESC.
2. Hydra 120
3. Turnigy Marine 180A Brushless ESC

I have been going through the forum, specially Diegoboy’s :” Lipo battery FAQ’S “
People are talking about setting the low volt cutoff at anywhere from 3V – 3.5V per cell (i.e 3V, 3.2V, 3.3V, 3.5V, etc ) How do you do that?

Example, Hydra’s manual say’s the best I can do is 3V per cell at 4 cells…

Do I need an LVC device on all or any of the ESC I have above?

providing the esc has that option, and it seems like most do, you can do it with the programing unit for the esc your setting up. Some can be programed with the radio but it seems like a PITA and not sure that the full range of functions can be used this way. I would not suggest ever using a 3v cuttoff for any esc. I would always allow rm for error. If your esc is out by even a small amount and you repeatedly drop below 3v your destroying your packs. My current esc is set at 3.4v and thats only because it doesnt have a higher voltage option., and I have not yey left it to the esc to make the call when to quit running. Better to er on the safe side for sure.
