Just wanted to see a thread where people can post/check in what they are up to anytime. Either at work or anything else. Pics posted here would be neat too. Figured it would be a nice way to get to know fellow members a little more since some of us are spread out across the globe.

I'm at work cleaning up one of the porsches. Then I'll be doing some light scheduled maintenance to a 59 Alfa Romeo veloce so it can be driven long distance to a club meet over the weekend. After that I'll prob be working on the 53 Cunningham to see if it will start after redoing the fuel system on it last week.

57 Chevys. Love those too. I had to tear down one for restoration once helping some friends out.

I read the paper at 6.30am...went for a walk....made lunch and had a beer...life after 60 is very exciting, as you do not have to put up with the crap of work issues and customers.

Nice looking project you have going on there eboat.

Larry did you get passed the lines there?

Douggie, I look forward to that life style :)

Siberianhusky, only block laying I've done was helping my parents build their house. It was laying the foundation cinder block. Don't know if I could do that now or not lol.

Egneg, im lost. Lol. You work at a place that makes coffee for those companies?

Today I ended up still messing with the 59 Alfa. I thought it was going to just a club meet. But it's also a rally driving thing. So I needed to adjust brakes and other little things. I swear these cars must love my attention because they keep having little quirks that need fixing. Best part of my job tho is taking them out for 20+ mile drives to get some miles put on them and make sure they don't sit around too long.

Tonight I hope to get some time in on my boat project

Yes ... plus store brands. Yesterday we processed over 300,000 pounds of coffee packaged in 3 pound cans (the line I work on) on my shift alone. We roast, grind, and package coffee in 1 pound, 2 pound, and 3 pound cans, brick packs, and single pot packs.

Got the piping hooked up. Some gas stations have the vents running up the canopy columns where the in ground tanks vent. It was a pain, but, as always, we got it done. Shouldnt this thread have ended yesterday? Jk.

Well egneg. I probably just had some of your coffee. I was getting tired after work and I need to stay awake so I can do a little on the rc boat project tonight.
I was hoping to get it together enough to test for tomorrow after work. But they are calling for 15/25mph winds so maybe not. Might be a good day for the sail boat lol.

Larry about all I know on gas stations is working at one. I did the graveyard shift at a BP a while after I was out of high school. But there's a lot behind building something like that. Sure there are rules and regulations to be followed too. I also used to build HVAC control panels in a shop. Then got a taste of field work installing them and running conduit. That was different. Heck I've had all kinds of odd jobs. Even put up cell towers and systems.

This is a cool thread. Ill chime in everyday with an update.
Today, I watched laborers and concrete finishers pour the tank pad amd I adjusted the man ways and spill containers to grade. After that, I set new manways at the Metro bus garage in St.Louis. Nothing fun, but it pays the bills and pays the rc addiction.

+1 on it pays the bills and rc hobby addiction. I try to sell rc stuff I hord to buy more. But eventually I run out of saved stuff to sell and need to restock lol. Selling stuff to buy stuff keeps me out of the dog house with old lady. Heck it's almost easier to sell the rc stuff than it is to sell engine parts or other performance automotive parts.

Well she's all ready for the weekend now. I'll be going back over her and putting her back in her spot Monday when I come back.

I hope to cut out early today to go pay bills after work and pick up the paint I ordered for my boat. Maybe I'll paint that this weekend.

392? I thought they made a smaller hemi around 330" made in the 40's or 50's.

JPriami

Yeah I think your right Larry. It's a 332 or something like that. I'm not a hemi guy but I used to work at a machine shop with a few. Only way I know on these is to look at the numbers stamped on the top of the block. But it's covered up by intake and valley pan. Not an easy ID.

Cars a 53 Cunningham. What a beast.

I can get her to crank and the fuel system is working now. But seems like there's no spark. Might be next weeks project.

I've been wondering why I had so many speakers. So I decided to build another pair. Finalizing the crossovers now. These sound so much better than the "store" bought ones. Cost...less than $200.00 in parts.

Those speakers look familiar, but I can't remember brand (Totem Forest or Rainmaker maybe?) I find it verycool to compare speakers (A vs. B). BTW Verygood job on the build.

I am currently building a new Whiplash 20 that will be powered by a Neu 1527 .5y 2500kv motor.

this is what i've been doing for the past 3 days, it's harder to get it running perfectly than you'd think!
the motor is one i got from my grandfather, from one of those "mekanix" kits, the ones that are plastic these days.
I took the motor apart and apart from the low level of technology, i'd say the motor is more quality built than most modern brushless ones (it's a 120vac)
