I have a couple 32" deep v hulls that need power options.

Both are ABS plastic but i have re-inforced them with carbon rods and carbon fabric.

Looking for both higher speeds and good run times. I have 120amp ESC's for both.

i am sure a couple 9xl motors could get you in the 40 range but i have read that the fdm 32 does not handle so well over 40 mph now i dont know how true that is i am just saying as for the jet stream its an older hull who knows where its limitations are

what was your goal in speed for these boats, if you are looking for high speed i dont think these are what you need?

High 30's low 40's is where i want to be. I much rather have the option of going fast and using it when i want.

I also have a smaller 30" ABS cat hull that i am also building up that i need to power. May 9xl's in all?

Bingo! A couple of 2s 5000's in series and you'll have good speed and runtime.

What "C" rating should they be?

30c MINIMUM.........but for the small extra cost get 40c...................

Look how affordable lipos are now....................these are 45c 5000's for 25 bucks............and to the pessimists, i realize thats the "rating", but i bet its close. I run zippys in my 47" mono and they are great batts

So are you going direct drive on the Jet Stream with the stern drive? I'm in the works with mine as well.

There are no good inexpensive chargers, what are your goals?

There are a number of the 6s 10 amp chargers being used in our club, you can get them from hobbyparts.

Nobody has had any problems with them yet.

You should never charge batteries without your prescence and for storage purposes the Li-Po should be charged to 50% of capacity...weigh your options carefully.
