:flame42: :frusty: Had a Major Accident dont know what it hit Turtle / Fish / Tree root floating on the lake but SOB it crack the rudder support almost pulled it off :flame42: any one out there willing to fix it I don't have the resources to do this the money yes resources no 610166101561014 can any one help ?????

um yup but you gotta pay for shipping and materials,possibly some paint too lol,I had the same thing happen to my df26 two weeks ago...what hull is yours?

Its a UL1 from the photos. Oooch. I can feel your pain. That was a hard inpact! After its been repaired consider a shear screw on your rudder. When running in waters where there is known hazards its a good idea to run a nylon lower screw to prevent what happened to your hull.

Its a UL-1 No problem on paying for shipping and materials and what ever else it needs let me know were to send it,and estament as to how much it will cost.I will pay in US denomination or what ever.

Put in a doubler transom? Pushing/clamping the broken area back in with epoxy? Cutting out the broken area and fiberglassing in?

it's not a big deal ,, some fiberglass matt or cloth some filler and some sanding and paint !!

It needs a proper transom reinforcement or it will happen again unless you killed the turtle, etc...

That sucks DB,, next time be sure to put a plastic screw threw the top bolt hole so the rudder can brake away and not damage the hull,,

Same thing happened to mine up north this year. The problem was, I didn't realize I had lost all steering until the boat was headed straight for the dock at full speed.

Instead of transom-only damage, the boat wound up plowing right into one of the posts of the dock and cracked the hull all the way from front to back.

I wound up buying another hull (not cheap). I might try some work on the broken hull, but I have a backup in the meantime.

the transom seems like it would have to be trimmed out from the rear....doubled from inside then reinstalled and glassed then comes the filler and then paint.This hull has a sealed off hull, so no access to it from inside.

You can't get to the back of the transom how do you put nuts on your hardware ? I would also put wood or CF back there to reinforce more !!

You use a steel bolt in the top and a shear bolt in the bottom hole. On impact it pivots on the top bolt, breaking the bottom one when the rudder kicks up. A shear bolt in the top hole will do no good.
