Running single 3s

I was racing this morning and got rained out, I had to get my r/c fix for the day so I decided to put my 3s battery from my buggy and put it in my boat. I ended up proping down. I normal run 2 7 cell stick packs, this single 3s combo seemed to have more speed than the 2 stick packs.
Not looking for tons of speed just to have fun, 3s packs better for me, I really don't want a lot of 2s sitting around.

the numbers are in, I ran both with same setup and 52x55 prop

the two seven cells I hit 26 mph and the one 3s lipo I hit 27 mph

I did not mess with any setup or different set of batteries due to lack of time, more testing to come.
