I am ready to pull the trigger on a 32" fighter cat. what can I exspect with a 2200kv, 180esc on 2 3p Lipos . I have a few different props from x642 to 447. I am leaning towards a single build. It has to be faster and handle better than the spartan. I am about to turn the spartan over to my son..

A blown esc and shot motor bearings!

That is assuming 2 3p lipos is two 3s lipos is that correct? Are you attempting to run 6s?
Listed as just a 2200kv motor is that a CC1515 or a Leopard 4074? neither of those motors is a 6s motor in boating and no 2200kv motor should really be used with 6s in boating. Those motors perform the best on 4s2p.

Are you planning to run 6s or 3s2p?

I have a cc1515 2200kv, but I could save that for another project. I could go with a cc 1800kv or whatever you guys think would be an Ideal set up. It just has to preform better than that spartan or I will not hear the end of it...... Thanks for the help...

A 1600kv leopard 4082 on 6s would make a nice sport boat and fit really well. You'll need a 3/16 drive upgrade, ben has those as well. People have run these on 9 and 12s for saw passes, however do not expect any type of longevity or durability with this high a voltage. The 32" cat is a nice hull, I'm pretty sure it has ride pads and is actually faster on the water than the daytona, good luck with the project and be sure to let us know how you go, Ben has amazing customer service so if you have any questions of would like a package deal be sure to email him, he always gets back to you promptly with a thorough reply;)

My apparition does about 59mph on a 2150kv leopard 4074 on 4s. As far as i know the apparition and the fightercat 32 are the same boat.
This is mine running on 4s. So a 6s setup would be awesome.

The CC1515 2200kv on 4s2p propped correctly will rock. I run a leopard 4074 1774kv in a 29" cat with a x447 and it breaks into the low low 50s on 4s1p. I also have a Leopard 4074 2200kv in a 32" mono on 4s2p with a m645 running mid 50s and it runs on rails. It won't take much to outrun a spartan especially with the old motor/esc.

I would think an M545 would be good with a 4S setup.

+1 on that. My m645 runs my setup hot, but a cat in the same size with a m545 on 4s2p should run amazing. I think you should see mid to high 50s with it.

Mine runs high 50's on 4s with an x445

my impulse is running mid 50s with a m445 with the 1515 2200 and is never over 110 deg temp. That setup on 4s1p should rip in the 32 cat. I would never consider running it on 6s.

Slow, what besides the 2150kv motor and x445 prop are u using? What esc are u utilizing and "c" rating are ur lipos ? Does ur boat have decent runtimes ? I'm looking to one day upgrade my mystic into a "sick" boat like yours. How are the temps ? Sorry for all the questions.

Stadiumyamaha, what type of 2s lipos are you running and with what esc in your impulse ? Thanks

Fun thread guys. Let me know how I can help. =)

The Apparition has 3 generations. The River cat is a 3rd generation Apparition hull, pulled before the paint process. Also know as an HOR hull. Kinetec sells them as well.

For sport 6s is the way to go. Why? Because Volts x Amps = watts. Watts = HP. So the more volts you use, the less amps it needs. Higher voltage encounters less overall resistance, so is also more efficient. Reducing the amps & heat allow for longer run times and less wear on the electronics.

The Seaking 180 is a great ESC for 6s. I've run them to extremes and never had one fail.

My recommendation for sport is 1600 - 1800 kv on 6s1p (2p is a lot of weight) I personally like the 4082 or 1520 series motors as well as the 37 series outrunners. The outrunner gives it a really neat sound and helps air cool the inside of the hull while running.

With a 45mm prop it'll be in the 50's to 60's depending on kv choice and run about 5-7 minutes on a pair of 5k mah packs 30c or greater.

There's a 3/16" conversion strut available for the catamaran strut/rudder that uses 1/4" brass tubing.

I pulled the triger on my FC 32 last night for the first time

Leopard 40/74 1400kv
FC offset rudder
Etti 150A esc
2 X3S 4000 packs
X442 to start out,
came back in luck warm,
its fast and its fun i would guess 50mph
enough run time to keep me happy,

Would I be ok to try a FC45 CNC prop on this setup? would I get around 5 mph more

Stadiumyamaha and Slow, thanks for your "quick" responses !! :P
