View Full Version : Removing shaft... Have to remove prop strut as well?

Hi Guys;

I am relatively new to boats and to the Impulse 31 so have a newbie question...

To remove the shaft to grease, do I simply remove the set screws on the motor collet, and then remove the two bolts that hold the propellor strut to its bracket and then slide the shaft out with the strut as an entire assembly? The manual seems to indicate this, but I think the pictures are not quite right so just wanted to double check...

Also if you do this, I assume you guys are marking your struts somehow to be able to put them back properly adjusted? Seems like a pain to have to undo the strut each time and possibly loose your adjustments...

Thanks for the confirmation or info on this procedure...

Cheers;
Eric

just undo the set screw on the flex shaft side of the coupler and the shaft should slide out

Came out like a charm... wonder why they say to remove strut in the manual? Oh well... thanks for the info!

I have no idea but I do know most of their other boats have to move or remove the strut but not this one
