You dont. They will blow. The stock motors will cook too if thats what your still using. For 6s running, you ll need to upgrade the motors and esc's and the drivetrain too.

In the manual it says it will run on 2 3s lipos. I just cant get the program card till wednesday

It means one 3s lipo per side. They do not get wired in series. One motor runs off one pack, the other runs off the other pack.

John, I am not sure it will work, I am guessing that Venom's ESC is the same as Seaking ( Hobbywing). I have the first edition of this boat and the ESC looked identical to the Seakings I have been using in my other boats, it will be helpful if other more knowledgeable member can enlighten us!

Ok, thank you for the update. There doesn't seem to be allot of data from Venom on this esc other than using transmitter to program it.

Yes, It is a seaking esc and works with the LED program box.

BTW, John, this program box works for land vehicles as well as airplane, if you order it, it comes with three stickers for each type of applications, just for your info. It is so easy to use, i love this as compare to the radio programing way which my pea brain can't remember anything i did a second before!:roflol:

Hey, thanks for all the notes. I ended up picking up a HobbyWing card for $8 on ebay. It only has the boat sticker on it but it works ok for what I need it for.

Are you running the stock motor ?

Yes, stock motors and after running the programming card I found out that the ESC's were not set up the same. No protection was set and the port engine timing was set to 3.75 and the starbord was set to 26.25. So my question is, what do you guys normally run for timing? Thank You

On my v500 2000kv outrunner it is set at 15* for stock motor,
But some say outrunner can be set higher, Like 30*.
Just check your temps after a 1 minute run, And if ok.
Run for three minutes and check again,
Out runners run hotter then inrunners.
200F it can handle.

:tiphat:Lenny, I have the 1st version and one motor was hotter than the other, always thought it was friction or some drive line problem, never occured to me to check timing. What timing should the in-runners be set? Any ideas? Why I never thought of that:frusty:

:hornets_nest:
I am not sure what wind they are,
I know they were not to good of a motor.
Very cheaply made and ran hot and like to eat amp up.
Try a post in Q & A. but watch how you word it,:spy:
If you know what I mean.:tongue_smilie:

Yes, I might try that, I always wanted to up grade those two to a 4 pole motors but I am by nature a super lazy guy. Anyway, I will first check the timing on the cooler motor and then see if that is the issue. I don't run that cat often because of this problem, love how the hull rides on water though.
Thanks again!:beerchug:

Ok, so here's the deal of timing. At 3.25 the port motor was running 90f and at 26.25, the starboard was running at 115f. If the weather holds out tonight I am going to run the boat at 0 degrees and see what the temp is. I do no that the 26.25 timing motor draws more current because the batter for that motor takes almost twice as long to recharge.

That's good to know, thanks!
