is it just me or has anyone else noticed that some Castle products have gone up 20 to 25% in price?

More than that actually. It's due to supply prices of neodymium. Most of their motors have increased by 50%. For instance the 1515 2200kv has gone from $200 to $300 MSRP.

All that does is force me to use more Chinese products. Oh well. I'll still have fast boats. Their loss.

Politics have hit the RC world! The American dollar has lost so much of it's value recently I think we'll be seeing the prices of a number of things go up. Less buying power.
Lets just hope this deal starts turning things around. Investors around the world were dumping American currency and buying up gold and other more stable currencies. Last I checked yesterday the global markets were more favorable since the potential deal to raise the debt limit was nearly reached.
Plus China has increased the price of most or their rare earth minerals, when they were flooding the market with cheap prices most of the mines in the States shut down!
The price of copper has gone up so much now you hear of it being stolen from power stations!
Damn this is depressing!

that's kinda what I'm thinking is going to happen even more... As far as motors go, those are going up also. That is if they come with neo mags.

25% + is a big increase

well, as an example of price increases for the Chinese motors, the T600 series outrunners
that are popular WERE 30 bucks, they are now $59.95 each no matter the KV rating.

Not sure who you're talking about, but that's likely less than cost on one now. And are you sure this "someone" actually has them in stock?

I bought a couple of castle 1515 2200kv a few weeks ago from hobbywarehouse for $115 and after checking this thread went back and saw they are now $229. Normally I buy stuff the other way around.

I too warned people of this about 6-8 months ago when you could still find a 5692 for $105 -$135.

Bought a 2210 Neu in clearance and I'm done buying motors for a while. Maybe an outrunner or two from Ben or HK.

HK just dumped their leopard clones on the market for peanuts. The only thing I buy from HK is batteries it seems.

You should try prices in the UK where a 5692 motor is £126 or $200 & an Aquacraft Motley Crew is £450 or $720, Thems prices.
