Nice boat. Which lipo did you use, 4s (2x2s) I think. A point to start according to stability is to play with the position of the lipos. Maybe more forward the boat will run more wet and more stable but also a little bit slower. I hope this thing will arrive here in Germany in a few days.

Bodo

My camgirl is only 2 years old so my boat videos are either mostly shots of grass or the sky or both if I'm lucky!

That's how it was when I was little driving the real boat. Trees water trees water trees

Looks like its running a little loose, but she's still moving nicely.

Brushless55
07-29-2011, 11:00 PM

It's 4cell total I guess that's 4s2p I'm still new to the hole boat thing I'm used to cars 2cell and 2cell only :)

It's 4cell total I guess that's 4s2p I'm still new to the hole boat thing I'm used to cars 2cell and 2cell only :)

Nope.... 4s2p is two 4s packs in parallel
you are running 2s packs in series

dmwilson09
07-30-2011, 10:13 AM
Do you know what your temps were running the x445? How much faster do you think your boat is now over the stock prop?

slow-at-rc
07-30-2011, 10:31 AM
I did not run the stock prop as for the temps I don't use a temp gun never have I go by the 10sec rule if you can keep your finger on the motor or esc for 10sec or more your good and I could

dana
07-30-2011, 11:02 AM
two 2s packs in series = 4s1p. two 4s packs series = 8s1p.
two 2s packs parallel = 2s2p. two 4s packs parallel = 4s2p

hope this helps

slow-at-rc
07-30-2011, 11:06 AM
Yes it does thanks

v-spec
07-30-2011, 12:19 PM
Mine won't be on the water until Tuesday assuming my parts get in Monday so can you make some more videos? Maybe let your daughter drive and you video this time? :rockon2:

slow-at-rc
07-30-2011, 12:27 PM
The only problem with that is I wouldn't have a boat any more. But as soon as I can get a buddy of mine to come out with me I will get a good video of it

v-spec
07-30-2011, 12:31 PM
Awesome, I'm looking forward to it!

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 10:43 AM
well i pulled the trigger and installed a Seaking 180 and a Leopard 4074 2000kv and lets just say this thing just flys literally. I will try and get a video of it up today after i dry it all out from a nasty blow over. I guess i need to do a little setup work before i do full speed runs.

v-spec
07-31-2011, 11:06 AM
It was running really loose the way it was before with more power it's prob all over the place. Can you post some pics? My stuff won't be here till tomorrow.

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 11:12 AM
The seaking is a real tight fit in the stock location

v-spec
07-31-2011, 11:19 AM
As long as it fits though. I ordered some extra caps for mine since my caps always ran a little hot on my old seakings. I figured I was going to have to run them on the battery wires and not like everyone else was installing them because of space limitations if I mounted it near the stock location. Thanks for the quick pics!

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 11:23 AM
What do you recommend me to get it to run a lil less loose?

v-spec
07-31-2011, 11:27 AM
First adjust the CG a little forward and if that doesn't help i'd put a tiny bit of negative angle on the strut back end and fine tune by bringing down the trim tabs. I always try to adjust my boats without going straight to the tabs. You might be able to raise the strut a tiny bit too.

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 11:32 AM
Ya I noticed that the tabs do a lot with a little movement hopefully my receiver is still good and I can try it again today. No I know why a lot of boat guys run a cheaper radio system.

v-spec
07-31-2011, 11:35 AM
Are you taping the hatch? I'm running the gt3b on mine. Let the receiver dry out or if you have corrosion x spray it on and it should be good to go.

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 11:40 AM
No spectrum stuff just glitches not a fan I run all Futaba stuff as hopefully I will soon be sponsored by them for car stuff

v-spec
07-31-2011, 11:47 AM
Nice, I edited post but I agree with you. Lost a couple boats. I noticed you've got your cooling lines going to the motor first. If it was me I'd go to the esc first. It won't look as clean but it'll run cooler.

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 11:50 AM
Yay just bench tested the receiver and it works. I will say one thing this boat is tuff it took some really hard flips and hits with no damage

v-spec
07-31-2011, 11:52 AM
Now go get the camera girl and do some triangles! :rockon2:

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 05:53 PM
Well this is what happens when you don't use a shear bolt

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 05:54 PM
Yet still not much damage just a couple of stress cracks in the paint

v-spec
07-31-2011, 06:07 PM
Ouch! What happened? Is the hull ok?

slow-at-rc
07-31-2011, 06:41 PM
Ya hull is fine as far as I can see but I hit a log and on the way back in it just went to the left I have a video I will put up in a bit

My pond is salt but there is nothing to hit in it except fish. I got one stuck on my rudder before but it didn't bend anything.
