Looking to run a nice s setup but need to know what is a good motor to run 6s on. I am looking at the leopard 3674 & 2850, also looking at castle 1520 or 1717. Please give me feed back. Which would be faster?

Thanks in advance

faster depends on other factors...reliable however castle wins

You havent mentioned a hull.....................but the 1717 has the most power.

leopard 3674 & 2850, also looking at castle 1520 or 1717...Which would be faster? Those motors could not be further apart in size and performance. The choice among them would be determined by motor size rather than brand. In which boat will the motor be used? What batteries - mAh, "C" rating, 1P or 2P? How fast do you want to go? How much run time do you want? How much $$$ can you spend?

Which one is "faster"? That will depend on the Kv of the motor and the size of the boat. In a 17" boat almost any 2850 would be faster than a 1717. Between a 1520 and 1717 in a 35" boat the motor with the higher Kv will probably win.

Good motors to run 6s in a DF33 are a Leopard 4082 1500/1600kv (Ive heard these are the same motor). Ive had both and they run great.
Castle 1520 1600kv runs great too. I wouldnt bother with a 1717 or a 540 in that hull. Pick either of the two mentioned, and you ll have a sceamer thats reliable. Use a 180-240 amp esc with 6s1p. This is from my experience with that hull and motors.

What about a 5692 1340kv for the df33

Or is this to big?

A 6+ hp motor in the 33 is slightly overkill....................

Too big. Stick with what was suggested or get a Neu of similar size and kv.

Ok Thx had to ask.... Would that motor be good in a 40' thunder tiger outlaw? (5692 leopard).

I think it would be better suited for that hull.

Do u think the df33 will be faster than the tiger if I buy both motors or about the same.

I say the 4082 1600kv. Mine has gone 64mph in my DF33 on 6s1p with good temps. I run until low voltage cut off. I also run an x447/3.

The 1450 is a "D" wind the 1600 is a "Y" wind, either will work fine, just make sure you set your esc timing propery on the motor selection you make. I for one would go 1600kv, but that's just my 2 cents.

I am running a CC1717 in a 41" mono on 6s2p and shes well motivated. That CC1717 is an awesome motor, running it with a x447/3. The Leopard 5692 is well suitied for that big mono.

I run a Leopard 4074 2200 on 4s2p in a 32" mono and she runs real nice and fast as hell. Run times are very short, but i haave it proped that way. Running with a m645...
