I wonder what prop I should use in my 42" Conquest? It has been converted from gas to electric and the shaft is 1/4" The X455 and X457 are 3/16". I have a 6117 Star Racer 3 blade Prop shop west balanced and sharpened prop, but I think 30000 rpm is too much for that, I may be wrong. I'm going to run either a Leopard 5692 730kv or a Scorpion 4035/800 on 10s.

Expect around 25-27,000 rpm on the water with those motors running at acceptable amp draws. The Scorpion will not take the amps the Leopard will, an x452 is probably as big as you'd want to go. Some others who have tried this motor in 10S cats have seen melted motor wires if pushed too far with x455s. The Leopard should spin the x455 or x457 if you can free up the hull and run the prop high. These are not Lehner or Neu motors and will not spin the same props at the same safe temperatures.

I can't find that size in 1/4" shaft size.

You will need to get the 1/4" cable with the step-down 3/16" stub. Very common, Steve sells them. Very few FE boats run 1/4" props.

Thanks. Yea the 1/4 is huge for electric. Thanks for the tip on the flex cable. I didn't know Steve had these.
