My stiletto will be here tomorrow and I'm going to put a turnigy 120A esc in it rather than using the 60A proboat one. I have the program card for it but what timing should I use? Also I will be using 4s to start with but would I be ok running it on 5s in the future with the stock motor? Thanks.

as long as the esc is rated for 22.2v then it will be fine its a 1800kv motor so that about 40k rpm unloaded

I wasn't thinking 6s 22.2v just 5s 18.5v but the esc is rated 2-6s.

Set the timing to 10-11 degrees. If you want to run 5S, put on a smaller prop to start with - amp draw will go up a bunch if you don't. I hope the Turnigy has a soft start feature, if so USE IT. This boat will flip onto its back with too much throttle off the beach.

I've seen that on some YouTube vids where it nearly takes off! I don't think it has a soft start but they have quite a good throttle range so you can start slow.
