As the title says, I haven't clocked it , but it just doesn't seem to be very fast .
Running 2 - 5000mah 35c lipos. Batteries centered on Velcro in boat.
Water was slick. It handled great. But I have an old hammer ep with a traxxas venelion system on 11.1v still subsurface drive that is almost as fast.

Boat ran very level . Should I move batteries back some?
Open to suggestions.

Move the cells all the way back, I stuck mine on the sides so I could get the CG a bit further back. Flat water will slow the boat a bit, a slight ripple works wonders.
What cells and what is their history? Mine ran 36.5 mph right out of the box with excellent packs.
Did you correct any drive line alignment? If it is 'way off that can slow the boat a lot.

The boat runs pretty flat. With a Grim 40/52/3 prop I hit 38.7 mph. Putting on an m445 with the bottom of the strut even with and parallel to the sponson bottoms put me in the upper 40s.

All I did was take it out of the box , grease the shaft and take it to the pond...lol

What alignment--- between motor and tube ? I'll look

You say you moved the strut up as well?
Batteries are a little older but I have 4 more sets to try tomorrow plus I will look at the things you suggested.

Thanks

Would that be the prop you would suggest for stock motor/ESC ?

Doesn't look bad to me, especially since it looks like you didn't have much of a straightaway to let it run. Also, the smoothness of the ride is deceiving when it comes to judging speed.

Only running on part of the pond for first battery ( heard about shafts breaking )

Maybe it is running as it should . If so , I'll just have to modd or sell it.

Some MCs have poorly aligned drive lines, do a search on fixing. The m445 is fine for the stock motor/ESC, but watch the temps after three minutes to make sure nothing gets too hot. Just how fast do you need to make you happy? It is one of the faster RTRs...

Thanks I've started looking, and the motor is not lined up very well with the tube. Going to check over and fix.
Plus going to try tomorrow with batteries much further back.
Any one know what the CG point should be on this boat.

As far as speed to make me happy...well if it is running mid 30's now, I have got to have atleast 50.
I think the stability of this hull makes it feel slower than it actually is. When it blows over on slick water, then I'll be happy ...Lol

Fixed motor alignment and ran the batteries all the way back.
Seemed to help some .
How far down is everybody running the strut from the bottom of the boat?
Going to play with this next.

Run it in some chop or when theres wind ripples...smooth water is slow water.

Going to a big lake tomorrow. Should be some chop.
Looking forward to it. I'll get another video.

Just an update,

The MC LOVES choppy water! Went to the lake this weekend and had a blast. Even flipped it a few times. It was great!:rockon2:
I would recommend this boat to anyone. It handles like it is on rails!

Just ordered OSE upgraded shaft and m445 prop. Going to get a little more speed now.

How do you keep the water in that pond sideways?

Yea, I saw it after I posted it. My girlfriend recorded it on her iphone and I can't figure out how to edit it.
Got a few more vids on the lake with some choppy water but same thing so I haven't put them up yet. But the rougher water really helped the speed.

Next for the slick water, going to play with the strut height. Plus, ordered a m445 prop.
