Hey guys... It's MINE all MINE!! The very gracious and immensely talented Mark Beaty from the Classic Thunder 1/10th scale FE club made me a great deal on this BEAUTIFUL 1990 Oberto 1/10th scale... Think it'll fit into my racing stable alright???

I'm just a LITTLE BIT excited right now!! :w00t:

Hey Gang... it's been awhile, but I FINALLY have this boat about ready to go... Just need to get an exhaust stack figured out for it... I'll be racing it the weekend of the 27th for the first time... I'll let you know how it goes! I'll be powering it with a Himax 36-30-1500 motor, which is the spec motor for E-RCU. Our club used the SV27 power package, and this motor is about the same dimensions as the SV27 motor, but a few hundred KV less...

I'll let you know how it works out... Here are some pics of the layout:

The front air foil looks adjustable - can it be done on the fly?

Let us know how that prop works out, I'm looking to get one from cmdi.

The Prop is a CDMI 45mm prop... We'll see if it works... Thus far, I haven't really found any of those initial run props that work on anything. They need more cup, less lift from what I've experienced...

The Airfoils are not adjustable on the fly. You can move them some in the pits...

I DO still have the 1996 DeWalt... I'll be getting it going in the near future. I'm planning on powering that one a little differently...

I will let you guys know how the prop works out with this boat...

is it me or do you have that set up to run counter clockwise races? I thought that races were clockwise, or is it a matter of preference to the racers? Seems that there arn't many choices for reverse props.

1/10 scale runs counter clockwise like the real boats.

Well guys... Here's the result of a faulty JR RS310 Receiver and a Rock retaining wall... I was running around out in front of Aurthur and Dorothy Oberto's house on Seafair Sunday... having a great time... Ooooss... and Aaaaaasss... as I made passes around our in front of the dock... bring it in to give it a quick check... send it back out... Hit the throttle... Sharp turn right and then no control... Open throttle right into the rock retaining wall...

Luckily for me, the guy who painted it lives just up the road and got me hooked up on the painting supplies (House of Colors Neon Green and GM Olympic White Duplicolor paint)... I didn't damage any of the decals, so hopefully I can fix it around those and preserve them...

Guess I'd better get the DeWalt finished a little sooner!

Real bummer to the max.... I know the feeling...3 weeks of laying paint. then to have a 5ft mono hit the floor nose first from 2 ft off a cement floor. I was hanging he hull to do the final clearcoat.... I had to walk away for a couple hours and BREATH. I feel for ya Darin hope she recovers well from her injuries...

How does the cowling seal-up? Do you have foam on the inside edge of the cowling? Do you still have to tape?

Darn shame Darin - presumably you'll have it back in the water in -relatively speaking- no time.

I too lost signal from an RS310 a few weeks ago. I thought maybe it was because I had let the voltage in my XS3 Pro dip to about 9.6v but my boat was no more than 10yds from me when this happened.

I'm hoping it's not an issue with the actual RX and is just a "juice" issue in the TX.

I put fresh cells in the TX and haven't had a problem since.

Darin or anyone else have any thoughts on this?

I've never had an issue with my Tx with the Hitec DCX Rxs, so I'm not considering that part of the problem...

I was running BEC, and have considered that the lack of an Rx pack might have contributed... No way to really know for sure...

I'm going to put the DCX in it next time around, once it's fixed, and we'll see how it goes...

As for fixing it... It'll take some elbow grease and care, but I think I can get it back to it's beautiful self without too much trouble.... I have the green paint on order and have the white in the garage, so it's just a matter of getting to it and being patient until I have it just right...
