That's a perfect line up for us MMEU guys. I hope to get more than the usual suspects interested.

WE were hoping to hear from you guys Terry. Would be rerally nice to see you. Doby has been leading a few new guys into our club so there will definately be some new blood for you,:hug1: Love to have you & anyone else from below the 49th.

Hey Ray, is open hydro only electric or open to the trolls too?

Doby

Hi Terry;

I dopn't see any reason why the Open Classes wouldn't be open to all.

jstolz
07-28-2011, 11:09 AM
What motors and batteries are allowed in the LSO class. In NAMBA there are a couple of approved brushless motors. Also we run LiPos in the class.

I plan on coming. I'm sure I can drag along someone else too.

Jay

ray schrauwen
07-28-2011, 11:16 AM
We run all AQ & PB brushless motors & lipos. Some use 1P some use 2P, max 10K on board... that is more than enough.

So far we are at 27 Boats :D
Lets keep the momentum going.

Hi, I am a NAMBA member but I plan to attend the race. I have a question re P Mono. Is there any hull restrictions such as length, width, weight, freeboard, etc. I checked the IMPBA rules but couldn't find the answer

ray schrauwen
08-01-2011, 06:21 PM
I believe we have a 34" hull limit, width has no restrictions, freeboard rule has never been imposed TMK...

Doby will chime in to confirm.

Doby
08-01-2011, 07:27 PM
34" is the max...14.8V, otherwise its pretty much open as to everything else. Please let me know if you are coming and what frequencies you have.

T.S.Davis
08-01-2011, 08:54 PM
Ray/Doby, there really was talk of going to play with you guys at our gig this past weekend,. There were those that needed to check their calenders and some "gotta check with the boss" guys but I think you can count on there being handful of attendees from MMEU. The guys I thought were serious numbered 6 with a couple more maybe's. The cheeseheads sounded probable too.

Hey, can I park my trailer on site again if I promise not to bring that rediculous generator we brought last time we were out?

It's a gerat site and London is a nice little town.

We'll get our poop in a group as soon as we can so you guys know what to expect.

Doby
08-01-2011, 08:59 PM
Bring as many trailers as you want, there's always lots of room for camping. If some of the guys need hotel info, let me know and I'll point them in more or less the right direction.

T.S.Davis
08-01-2011, 09:28 PM
HA! My wife watched me type that last reponse and gave me the green light. And ONLY one day after our race I got approval for another race trip. WHAT!?!? Maybe she finally found a replacement for me. It's overdue. hahaha

You can count me in for LSH, LSO, P mono, and Open Hydro. All on DSM. If I can get it done I'll throw in an open mono. I put out some feelers for you/us to see if we can muster enough interest in P spec hydro to justify asking you guys to add it. If we can I'll get back to ya.

Not sure if we'll camp or room it. Probably some of both.

Doby
08-01-2011, 09:34 PM

I'm new to MMEU and only have an LSH but I will be there if I can get it to perform better. If not I'll pit for Terry and Fred if they'll have me

T.S.Davis
08-02-2011, 09:20 PM
Tom, if we take the trailer you can even stay on site with us. There is a problem though. I have two LSO boats. I've got everything but an extra set of hands to drive it..........so............ the stipulation is that if you stay with us you have to run my second boat. Sorry man, that's the rules. hahaha We'll set it up nice and conservative.

I have more boats than sense. I have a third LSO too but that one is a handfull.

No Problem Ken....I'll bring mine and the flyer already states "others added as required" , so it looks like it will be required:laugh:...So how many classes can I put you down for?
Also, the Keg sounds good for Saturday night again:beerchug:

Hi Chris
Is it possible for you to post a racers list? If I can get all the stars lined up I may be making the trip, picking up Tom Costello and Jay Stolz along the way. The racers list will help me decide. It will be a long travel for me. I don't think I can talk any other cheese heads in going.

My line up would be LSO, LSH, OPC and P-Mono. As long as there are alot of P-Mono's, how about P-Offshore? Basically a prop change.

Thanks - Doug

Doby

All;

I'll be posting a list of who and what shortly.

Doby
08-08-2011, 10:22 AM
OK Boys and Girls;

I have attached a current list as best I can figure out with who is racing what and which frequency.

We are at 59 boats so far:biggrin:...not to shabby at all with about a month and a half still to go.

57371

If you see your name and there is an X in the class you want to race, it means I didn't get your frequencies (or I lost them ) so if you could please let me know, I'll update the list.

Remember, where some class participation is low, please bring your boats as they can possibly fit in the Open classes, or we can add special combined classes as needed.

Lets keep the ball rolling!

T.S.Davis
08-08-2011, 11:00 AM
TWO MORE! It's confusing but we have two Tom C. in our gang. The second Tom C is running LSH on DSM and LSO on channel 65. I'll probably butcher the spelling but I believe it's Castalleni.

Doug, you need me to make some calls? Stars can be persuaded with the right leverage. I know some guys down town. Might be pricey though.

Doby
08-08-2011, 11:16 AM
So another Tom C?

I already have Qty 1; Tom C running LSH, OPC and P-Mono on DSM
and another Qty 1: Tom running LSO on 65 and LSH on a channel to be determined.

So I think I have all the Toms already from your group:blink::blink:

Unless theres a third Tom!

Can you please confirm Terry?

Thanks

08-11-2011, 10:32 AM
Just an FYI, with 76 boats entered so far, thanks to DSM there seems to be no frequency conflicts (so far) with the few that aren't using DSM...life is good:bounce:

I do need a bit more info from the foloowing:

Ray S, I still need your freqencies for all your classes.
Doug P, same situation as Ray.
Tom C, (the one who's running LSO on 65 and LSH on ???) Can you please let me know what the LSH freq will be?

Thanks All!

Trying to do my best to keep things organized.

Do you need a passport to get into/out of Canada?

T.S.Davis

Hard to say. You don't share a border with Canada so they may never have messed with it. It was an issue around here. Lot's of travel in and out of Canada.

If you got on it quick you might even be able to get your passport in time.

It would be sweet to take another run at you in LSH. If you guys are coming I'll keep working on the P spec hydro.

Just an FYI, with 76 boats entered so far:

Sounds like alot of boats... Of the 76 entered how many actually have enought to make classes? Buy the way, how many boats make a class 3, 4, or 5....

Count me in for

P-Limited Sport Hydro (LSH) - 2.4gHz
P-Limited Offshore - 2.4gHz
P-Limited OPC (tunnel) - 2.4gHz

I think I recall someone stating that classes had a 10,000mAh limit. Is that true, meaning we can run 2P in any of the classes?

DOBY - I am all DSM. I had to confirm whether I could make the trip. Sean's commitment pushed me over the fence.

Please clarify - the racers list shows N2 mono and P-Hydro and other classes but the flyer does not? I would enter N2 mono if this is a class. Also a bunch of us have P-Limited Hydros. Is this is what is intended or is it the actual P-Hydro?

Oh - Open esc's for the P-limited classes correct?

I too would like some info on area Hotels. Jay and Tom - I will be in with you guys soon.

I wold love to run my N1 which I set up for the NAMBA Nats but couldn't attend. I have been unable to find an update for this class on the IMPBA rules. In NAMBA the motor can be either a brushed ROAR legal 27 turn or a ROAR legal 17.5 turn brushless. 2S Lipos OK. If OK with the race chairman perhaps we could go with the NAMBA rules.

Ray,

I'm going to run a 27t brushed motor. Tom is going to run a 17.5t brushless. It's now a Roar stock motor. I'd say either motor is OK. If you want to run brushless, you can pick up a17.5t brushless motor cheap from China. Tom and I also use LiPos.

NLMBC is going to try something new with the introduction of a 10 minute enduro race.
The general rules for the enduro race
will be any legal electric mono, full mill start, M course , one optional pit stop allowed and total number of
‘clean’ laps to determine the winner. For the optional pit stop, contestants must use the pit area
to work on their model. Any setup change is allowed including a pack change. A ‘clean’ lap is a
lap completed without any type of penalty. The intent of the enduro race is to give drivers more
time on the water.

Guys, I don't mean to get in your business but you already have a lot of classes to get through. Trust me. I've done this once or twice. You're going to have your hands full if you throw in another long water time heavy retrieve class. This class alone will take up a lot of time. 10 minutes of water + 5 minutes of pit + 5 minutes of retrieve + 5 minutes of arguing about how many laps were turned is going to take........forever. Randall is going to lose his mind running these heats.

Pretty sure Londons a 1/6th of a mile course. We plan on setting up a very large canopy over the drivers stand so if it rains, we will be ready, or if the suns hot, we will have shade. There will be a "pit" area with tables. Personal canopies are a must. There will be some generators, but it is very advisable to bring your own. Porta Potties will be on site.

John,

Is PETE up for a rematch in Scale? We had some close racing last year, looking forward to racing with him. My Atlas has a fresh motor, esc & cells, she ready to rock!

Bob Z is working on getting his new Scale Pay & Pack ready for the race also.

Yup, Petes going to be there with the old beat up (yet fast and super handeling) Llumar. I've got an Executone that I picked up from Steve Ressor....brutally fast but catches a lot of air.

Is this place easy to find from the 401? Which side of London? I've been there once since 1977 so I know nothing of the area!
Hoping to be a spectator on the Saturday.

We have a club member that's a car super freak ninja type guy. He had bushel basket of brushed 27's laying around. He built me 3 motors for the nats I never ran. The boat didn't work. I haven at least 3 other boats I could throw them in. I'm already running 4 classes. I'll have to think on it.

Ray and Terry, I'll answer both your questions as best I can having run N1 at the 2009 and 2010FE Nats. The races are 3 laps on a 1/6th mile course. The allowed motors are brushed ROAR stock 27T
or brushless 17.5 T. The allowed motors are listed on the ROAR site. As I am sure Jay and I have mentioned, he is running a brushed motor and I am using a brushless. I hope this info helps.

If the London course is pretty accurate I'd like to run a watch on it to see what it's doing for the mile. It turned a 1:08 on our course but I think ours is a little short of a mile. I timed Reesor out there a couple seasons ago at 1:06 with his big rigger.

It was fun Terry....

There was a lot happening on both days and lots to see and talk about;

Some things that stick in my mind...

1)Terry's underwater P-Mono finish, submerged at least 5 feet in front of the finish line, re-surfaced about 5 feet after the finish line....hey, a finish is a finish...be it on, above or under the water.
2) Terry's Q Hydro running against Chris's rigger (see video above). The speed just doesn't come through on the vids as it does in real life.
3) Sean's red OPC, what a sweet running tunnel.
4) Doug P's OPC...faster than God meant tunnels to be and basically riding on the last 1/2" or so of the ride pads with its nose up in the air...should have blown over but didn't. (wish it would have then I might have got 1st instead of 2nd)
5) The support and attendence from the USA folks.:patriot:

More to come as my head clears out over time.

That last heat of open was very satisfying. Holding off a Reesor rigger with a sport hydro just doesn't seem possible but I have the film to prove it now. haha

That first video shows Randal theiving lane one from me at the first turn. Blew my P mono off the water. DOH! I'll cut him some slack though. He worked his a$$ off for us all weekend. He climbed those stair a pascillion times.

I just checked the time on Chris's video for open hydro. We crossed the start around 39 seconds....ish. We finished that heat in right around 87 seconds. With the wind, chop, and a dead boat in lane 3 that's not bad. I checked the heat records for NAMBA. The Q sport record is screwy. It's supposed to be 1:39 not 139 seconds. I know this because I filled out the form. 139 seconds is 2 minutes 9 seconds. Apparently I need to be more careful when I submit records. They want total seconds and not minutes and seconds. Even 1:39 is pretty sad. I know that time was beat in CO too so I'm not sure why it's still 139.

However.......87 seconds is right in between the NAMBA records for Sport 40-1 and 40-2. Sweet!

It was nice seeing everyone again.
I will be there again next year, maybe I will bring a boat or two with me.

unless you get a shot of the boat popping up out of the submerged position it would be just a shot of the start/finish line. But that was a Great finish

Yeah, it took a while for that boat to pop up. Considering the mud on the boat after it popped up (indicating a mud bottom to the pond) I can't figure out why the water is so unusually BLUE.

In all other ponds like that along the 401, they are the brown muddy water we are all too familiar with.

It must be mud only in that limited area and gravel most everywhere else to be that bright blue colour (Canadian spelling there of the American word "color" there).

I thought maybe there was a video of that. Oh well. I hit the bottom twice with that thing.

The color is tidy bowl blue. Weed treats I suspect.

Its a weed inhibitor called Blue Vale, Mike puts it in every year, similar to food coloring, non toxic and blocks light from getting to the weeds.
