I know Delta wind motors are known for running higher temps than Wye winds. My friend has two D wind motors in a twin cat with no heat issues. I'm interested in a Neu 1527 motor for a single drive application in a mid 30" inch mono on 6s. I've heard good things about the 1Y using a big prop. My other option is a 1.5D if I remember correctly. It's a 1500kv. Anyone have experience with these 2 motors? My goal is roughly 5 min run times with speeds ranging from high 50's to low to mid 60's. I'd appreciate any valuable input.

Sprintcat .40s
1527 1.5d on only 5s.
With 6s and a mid thirties sized mono, you will be FLYING! I hit low sixties with this setup running a cc lv 240 and a x 457.

Sweet. I'm going with that one then. Thanks Ryan. Have to post a couple boats for sale, and I'm ready to rock. Amy timing suggestions?Comment

As per Neu motors you should run the lowest timing on D wind motors. More timing will not do anything but increase heat.
@BHChieftain. The D and Y winds use different winding patterns. The D's usually have a lot more wire and therefore much lower resistance and pull more amps. The Y winds have higher resistance but have more torque at a given Kv value and can size.
