I have just ordered as dragon saga twin cat and have 2 turnigy 120a esc's to go in it and will be upgrading to the 10xl 380 motors. The boat has counter rotating props the same as the ekos but this limits my prop choices, can you have both motors turning in the same direction and use 2 regular props without any probs or does it have to be counter rotating?

Does twin need counter rotating props?

In a cat ? yes.
A guy in our club set up a twin cat & while waiting for the pair of counter rotating props to arrive he tested it with a pair of props rotating the same way.
The torque was so much that on a hard take off it would just flip over on to it's lid.
But once it was running had huge propwalk so needed a lot of left trim on the rudder. It also kept lifting the left sponson & flipping at speed. I don't think he ever got to use full throttle & still keep the deck pointing at the sky.
But yours might be different. Smaller, higher reving props might not be as dramatic.
I'm about to start a twin cat build & will definitely be using counter rotating props.
Cheers.

There ya go then. They are definitely spinning the same way. All you can do is give it a try. Like I said smaller higher reving props seem to work.
Cheers.
