Can someone here help me in determining the configuration I would need to plug an additional set into my existing setup to run 4 batteries as opposed to 2. I would like to simply add an adapter to each side but need to know how to wire it. I have the wire and connectors in hand and am very capable with a soldering gun. I am presently running 2, 3S batteries in parallel to give me 6S. I need to remain 6S and the same voltage after connecting so I assume I need to hook the additional ones up in series to each existing battery? Is this correct?

I found these adapters pre made with EC5 connectors. Which one if any of these would work for what I want to do? I do have EC5 connectors on my setup already.

You have to parallel the batteries... Parallel keeps the voltage the same , but doubles the capacity. Series doubles the voltage and keeps the capacity of one battery. I'm gonna be running a series/parallel setup. 22.2 volts but 16000 mah.... Series to get 22.2 volts, and parallel to get 16000 mah.... Good luck!

running two 3s packs to get 6s is called series
if you ran two 3s packs in prallel you would still have 3s

so you could run two 3s packs in parallel x 2 ( 3s )
then wire those in series to get 6s

or run two 3s packs in series x2 ( 6s )
then wire those two setups in parallel to keep 6s but double the Mah

Yes, that first connector you linked to (parallel) will work. You will need two of them.

The only possible problem is they are 12 gauge wire, which might be fine, but with high amp draws 10 gauge would be better.

Here are some I soldered up using 10 gauge wire.

Here is a parallel into series connection. My series connector is a bit too long, but gives you the idea.

Hope this helps

when your running parallel like this with the amp draw we are seeing 12G will be fine

Snow, this is how I do things
and much less resistance that what was posted and to me much easier to put together

With bullet connectors this is how I do series
these are 2s packs so they are now wired in two sets of 4s

My simple parallel connectors, same thing for 3s packs
http://i703.photobucket.com/albums/ww39/filmmaker2009/005-9.jpg
and you can see how they connect the two sets of 4s packs in parallel

and to the speedo

and as we can see a clean simple setup with less resistance :beerchug:

Wow, thanks for all the pics and info, really appreciated. I have 4 nano tech 6.0 3s and also 4 turnigy 5.8 3S which I want to use together to run my boat. That should give me 2 runs of 20+ minutes before looking for the charger. With all this info I will easily be able to solder up my own. Thanks again.
