On 2, 3 or 4S?

That is the deciding factor.

Is it a mono, hydro or cat? That also matters.

I have a micro hydro I have a 3600KV and run on 3S (almost 40K @ the prop). Runs awesome.

Theres not many 2040 motors to choose from.

There's a limited range of props available for min boats too so what sort of run time are you after?

Do you mean 3600kv on 3s for 40,000. Martin.

"Theres not many 2040 motors to choose from." There are a lot of 2040 motors to chose from Ammo, Leapord, Tacon, Tenshock, Feigao, Viper to name a few.

Yes I meant 3600KV.

Post up some links. Ive had a hard time finding many options in the 2040 motors. The KV's seem to be far off whack for what I was aiming for (38,000 RPM).

40,000 RPM seems to be working well for me- for now. And for ref. that is in a micro hydro.

You'll have a wide variety of props with that, 27-29 mm if is its submerged drive ECO style, 29-32mm surface drive, should net you 4-6 minutes on a 5-700g boat with 2200mAh.

At the smaller end of the scale you will be fine at the bigger end you will have to avoid high pitches I run a 40A and ESC and x632 and 1732 are marginal.

I just noticed www.hobbypartz.com is now carrying a NICE selection of the 2040 motors. Many different KV's to choose from!

Very exciting news!

Always wondered about these in a mini believe it has a bigger brother at 400 watts too.
Hopefully someone here has more information on suitability
