Anyone upgrade their steering servo? I think my traxxas 2056 is shot.Took it apart it smells funny and was warm to the touch.It appears to be not as waterproof as advertised...

any std size servo will fit.

But why put just any servo in the boat? A boat that size needs a high torque servo to keep good control at high speeds. The force on the rudder can overwhelm a standard servo, causing funky control in corners, hooking, etc.
A servo with at least 80 oz-in at the receiver voltage supplied is a minimum IMO. The first below should work if you have 6 volts to the receiver. If you only have 4.8 volts to the receiver, then use the second one, which is the better choice either way.

a micro servo will be to small and a 1/4 scale to big 0_o
