Sorry for the late reply, so show me some pics and well talk,, my boat is all CF and my motor mounts are shinny aluminum so iwas thinking a aluminum servo mount would look cool,,so let me no. PS its a low profile servo so it will be standing up no turned on its side like others ive seen..

did you say the first pic left to right was for a lowprofile servo??
cacofonix
05-03-2011, 01:25 PM
no no
i don't have specific mount for low profile
first pic is standard servo mount
2nd and 3 rd, it's also a standard servo mount i design for maritmo hull.
but it will fit with a low profile mounted on top (not reversed as shown on pics)
herve
HYDROJERRY

OK so the 2nd and third pics with the servo bolted on the top side, not upside down will work for a low profile servo, is that correct,,,

I really like the 1521 mount for hydro...I must have that one for my MK II. I will be using a 1524 NEU 8mm on it..... Can I ask you what size bolts you are using on the side plates ? I am drawn to your mount cause its allmost perfect for my app. I like how you can bolt it down to the floor threw the slits at the bottom and its top side profile good for low profile hydros. Thanks for making such a great mount ! Randy..................... Send me a pm with PP

I would drill tap 3/8 aluminum square rod with a Dubro m4 drill tap and bolt mount to that and then epoxie to floor. You will be able to loosen bolts and slide the whole mount back for easey collet removal:rockon2:

Herve,
Answer: 2230 length is 4.7"(119.4mm)
I had HRC make a cooling can, that is 89mm, so the 86mm must be an error.
Thanks,
Punisher 67
06-27-2011, 11:08 AM
That is the length of the old style non cooled version of 2230 , the new style air cooled 2230 are about 12mm longer . Here are pictures of both versions Herve....I know what its like making mounts for motors you have never seen

Herve,
I have my Neu 2230 smooth can in front of me, measuring 124.25mm in length/ 57.5mm diameter.
Rear of can has (8) set screw to hold rear plate, so if you notch for screws, I would need (8) set at 45 degrees from each other.
This motor was made on 2/7/2011, it does have the air cooled front end.
Hope this helps.

Well, to be honest, Im not sure, it will go in Either a Genesis or an Ospray (HobbyKing) There are rails mounted so maybe rail mount would be best? All help is apriciated :)

ok ok
floor mount is a more flexible solution
rail mount .... you must be sure to have 4"" or 5"" between rails

Herve,
I was thinking of something along the lines of an all-in-one coolor/mount; maybe with a standardized quick disconnect to allow ease of switching motors. Now that would be cool (sorry, intentional pun).

Awesome Herve! They came out mint! Can't wait to get them fitted up=) You should look into more multi fit mounts for engines around the same size, you'd be able to have less parts needed to make more mounts and people could pay a little extra and get both rear plates for the same mount in case they ever switch motors. Just sayin;)

apologies, i dont have a scanner to send a technical drawing and only have very basic programmes on the computer, i hope this makes sense. do you think you could make a mount for twin CC2028's with stuffing tube holder and a V base. also the the V has a T section with through holes in it. these would then mount on a V shaped plate to be tapped and bonded into the hull so i could remove the whole mount as required

Hello Cacofonix,
I need a motor mount for a Proteus X524 with an ESC plate for a Castle Hydra ICE2 mounted on 5" rails. How much will it we shipped to Tampa, Florida? Here are the motor specs:

Do you have anything already made for this motor?
Thank you

I am looking for a motor mount version like the last picture you sent. Do you need any other information or dimensions of the Proteus Motor to make sure it will fit or your mount?
