when you pop the hatch, it is reading realtime so the speed will say zero. But after pushing a bunch of buttons you can get last run. Not like what you see here where they pop the hatch and it shows max speed instantaneously but it does a lot of other crap that I don't need or know how to use. If I remember, it was 80 bucks shipped new.

If you are considering a Watts Up Meter and a GPS. Have a look at The Eagle Tree System with GPS expander. The GPS module only weighs a few oz.

It will cost more than those other two items, but gives you more data and lots of flexibility to add temp sensors, etc.

Can also be used on your cars.

The eagle tree needs to downloaded onto a computer to read the data, or you can buy a little data reader card for viewing readings in the field.

Look at the 150 amp model with wire leads so you can use your own connectors.
