is this jacket easier to install than the stock ul-1 plastic jacket? thanks!

Yes and I don't think the stock one is plastic.

thanks. btw i don't have the jacket in front of me, but i don't THINK it's metal . . . looks like black plastic or other nonmetallic material; not that i really know.
