Hi all as mentioned in my previous threads im building a 16'' Hydromite . For motors i have a Imex 20x40 4100 kv/v innrunner and a Align 430L 3550 kv/v outrunner both bought a hobby show at a fair price and me really not knowing much on motor selection for micros . For e.g how would these 2 motors compare to a Feigo 380 S 11 t which kv is close to my 430L?What is the differance in power characteristics between a innrunner and a outrunner? For lipos i have a 2s 1350 mah and 2s 2100 mah packs My props i will be trying range from x427-x435. .Would experimenting with 3s also be a good option? Regards Andris Golts.

The 3550kv OR motor will spin as big or bigger prop than the 4100kv IR motor as in my experience OR motors have more torque.
The props sizes you have are well suited to either of these motors especailly the OR and can be run on 3S.
I would put the small prop on for 3cells though !!

Fwiw I run a 18" cat with a 3550 OR motor to a 427 with a 60A esc from 3S1600mAh and the motor is hot after a few minutes but the esc and pack are only warm.
My baby rigger runs a 4000kv OR with a 30A esc that thermals after about 2 minutes but is still fun. Must get a 40A esc for it !

I hope this is of some help :thumbup1:

Im now useing a 2836 outrunner 3800kv on 3s nano tech 40c-90c on an Octura metal X435 on an Etti 45amp esc. Ive also started useing one of those various cheapo esc that are around which is a 60 amp for just £13 GB pounds & am very immpressed so far, But time will tell on this esc on how hard i press them. But at £13 who cares. Thanks Martin.
